REV. VERNARD ILE, 74 DIES

RETIRED WAYNE CITY MINISTER

Rev. Vernard Ile 74, of Wayne City died at 10:35 p.m. Thursday October 20, 1988, at his home. He was a retired Missionary Baptist minister.

RITES HELD SUNDAY

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Olive Branch Church south of Wayne City with Rev. Richard McCormick officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. The Richardson funeral home of Wayne city was in charge of the arrangements. Rev Ile was born February 22, 1914 in Wayne County, the son of Charles and Ella (Owen) Ile. He married the former Lillian Merrick April 10, 1935.

THE SURVIVORS

Surviving are his wife; three sons Clinton Eugene of Columbia City, In. Charles of Wayne City; and Randy of Minerva Oh.; one daughter Diana Fitch of Bible Grove; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren.

CHARLES ILE OF WAYNE CITY, DIES AT A MISSISSIPPI HOSPITAL

Charles "Chuck" Ile, 58, of Wayne City, died at 8:05 a. m. Saturday, October 14, 2000 at Vicksburg Medical Center in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Mr. Ile was self-employed in the home construction business and was a farmer.

RITES TUESDAY

Funeral rites will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 17, at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with Rev. Frank Huston officiating. Burial will be in the Olive Branch Cemetery near Wayne City. Visitation at Hughey Funeral Home will be 5 to 8 p.m. Monday (tonight).

He was born in Wayne County February 2, 1942, the son of Vernard and Lillian Merrrick Ile. He was married to Barbara Forth February 24, 1962 in Wayne City.

He was a member of the Light House Baptist Church. Preceding him in death were his father and infant son.

THE SURVIVORS

Surviving are his wife, Barbara of Wayne City; his mother, Mrs. Lillian Ile of Wayne City; a son, David (Theresa) Ile of Mt. Vernon; two grandchildren; two brothers, Clinton Ile of Columbia City, Indiana, and Randy Ile of Minerva, Ohio; one sister, Diana McKnelly of Bible Grove, and several nieces and nephews.

Lillian Ile 83, of Wayne City died 2:22 p.m. (Saturday) January 19, 2002, at Mt. Vernon Care Center in Mt. Vernon. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Ile was born January 30, 1918, in Wayne County, Illinois to Wilbur F. and Lelanna (Porterfield) Merrick. She married Vernard Ile April 10, 1935; he died in 1988. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at Richardson Funeral Home in Wayne City. The Rev. Richard McCormick will officiate. Burial will be at Olive Branch Cemetery. She is survived by two sons, Clinton Eugene Ile and wife Sherry of Columbia City Indiana and Randy Ile and wife Sibbie of Minerva, Ohio; a daughter Diana McKnelly and husband Roger of Louisville; a daughter-in-law Barbara Ile of Wayne City; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a sister Helen Farmer of Geff. She was a member of Olive Branch Church. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a son (Chuck) and a grandson.
