Schaeffer - Slocumb Cemetery
Shaeffer Cemetery- Very quaint old cemetery, that sadly has fallen into disrepair. There are easily 80 unaccounted graves in this cemetery. In my opinion, Shaeffer Cemetery is the home to one of the most stunning tombstones in all of Wayne Co., IL ( pictured above right) ; Directions to Shaeffer Cemetery take Main St. in Fairfield and turn North onto NE 4th street go down 3 blocks and turn right (East) onto E. Mill St. the cemetery is located on the corner of NE 5th & E. Mill Street; The cemetery was transcribed and photographed Nov., 2007 by Michael J.
