BALTIMORE CEMETERY
Commonly know as the Olive Branch Cemetery
A-K L-Z
Located approximately 7 miles south of Wayne City, Illinois, OR about a half mile FROM 64 going north on Illinois State Highway 242 on the right hand side. Commonly know as the Olive Branch Cemetery, due to its location across the street from the church by that name, the church and cemetery are separate and unrelated to each other.
NOTE Although the stone above states that this cemetery was
established in 1870, there are many stone much older than that date found in
the cemetery, some as early as the 1840’s!
In November of 2007 my daughter and I had visited the cemetery and took pictures of all the headstones found at that time. Headstone pictures are Available for people who have available written in their information. I will email you a copy of the headstone for free. I am trying a new format out for cemetery information. The information on this cemetery is not based on just headstone inscriptions but rather by state database records found on line as well as personal obituaries saved by my grandmother Hazel SMITH Lane, obituaries exchanged with other researchers, the Illinois State Historic Library, Legacy of Kin 1&2, Illustrated and Descriptive Sketch Book of Wayne Co., Il. (1903) as well as Betty Beeson and Doris Bland books. The additional information is added as other resources for researchers to follow up on and have not been proven.
