Located approximately 7 miles south of Wayne City, Illinois, OR about a half mile FROM 64 going north on Illinois State Highway 242 on the right hand side. Commonly know as the Olive Branch Cemetery, due to its location across the street from the church by that name, the church and cemetery are separate and unrelated to each other
In September of 2006 my daughter and I had visited the cemetery and found that it is in need of funds. A storm had caused a great deal of damage and several trees had to be removed and stones repaired. While the cemetery had done its repairs, the damage caused by the storm is more easily seen in the church across the street waiting for it to be repaired.
Headstone pictures are Available for people who have available written in their information, they were taken by me or my daughter September 2006. I will email you a copy of the headstone for free. I just ask that you consider sending in a donation to the treasurer of the Baltimore Cemetery Wilma Trotter RR 2 box 56 Dahlgren Illinois 62828, to help maintain the cemetery. I am trying a new format out for cemetery information. The information on this cemetery is not based on just headstone inscriptions but rather by state database records found on line as well as personal obituaries saved by my grandmother Hazel SMITH Lane, obituaries exchanged with other researchers, the Illinois State Historic Library, Legacy of Kin 1&2, Illustrated and Descriptive Sketch Book of Wayne Co., Il. (1903) as well as Betty Beeson and Doris Bland books. The additional information is added as other resources for researchers to follow up on and have not been proven.
Information in this color was added by Timothy L. Means
Blue row indicates known war veteran!
Death Certificate numbers were found in the Illinois Statewide Database http://www.cyberdriveillinois.com/GenealogyMWeb/idphdeathsrch.html
Although we have tried to be as accurate as possible in our research, mistakes happen, if you know of any corrections or additions to this family please contact me, thanks Laurie lselpien@msn.com
