WILFORD C. WILLIAMS

Funeral Services for Wilford C. Williams, 73, retired Mt. Copper Company employee and for 20 years a resident of Mococo, who died in an automobile crash yesterday near Vacaville, will be held here Saturday. The services will take place at 1 p.m. in Brunscher and Connilly Chapel with Rev. V. L. Wiscason, pastor of Standard Bible Church, Mt. View, officiating. Interment will be in Alhambra Cemetery. Living relatives include the widow, Mrs. Williams and two daughters, Mrs. Lorraine McCullough and Mrs. Ella Heflin, all of Mococo, and son Albert O. Williams, of Martinez.

Additional information

 

Staff Sergent Lester L. (Pete) Boswell, 26, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oran Boswell, five miles south of Wayne City, was killed in action in North Africa on April 23rd according to word received by hi parents. Young Boswell enlisted in the Army on October 14, 1940, and was stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina until October 14, 1940 and was sent to Africa, where he took part in the invasion of the continent on November 7. Sgt. Boswell on January 10, 1942, while home on furlough was married to Miss. Maxine Draper, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Draper, who survives. They had no children. Before entering the service he was employed at Roth Dairy Co. in Mt. Vernon. In a recent letter to his parents he stated "Africa is not such a bad place, but it is not like the United States. I am keeping my courage high and will be home some day". Mr. and Mrs. Boswell have one other child a daughter, (Irma) fourteen years old.
