MARRIED. - At the residence of the bride's father, Liberty, White County, Illinois, on Thursday, May 11th, 1871, by Rev. W. M. Owen, Mr. Fred Bestow of Fairfield and Miss Julia Vertrees. [Wayne County Press, May 18, 1871]

At 11 o'clock yesterday, Miss Alice Young of Carmi was married to C.D. Bradley, master of bridges of C. and V. railway. The wedding took place at Vincennes where Miss Young had gone the day before, and the long looked-for event was thus quietly transacted. The happy couple left for Evansville the same afternoon. Miss Young is well known in Cairo as a young lady of excellent disposition, while the groom stands high in his profession. The Bulletin joins the friends of Mr. and Mrs. Bradley in offering congratulations upon the event of their union. [The Daily Cairo Bulletin. (Cairo, Ill.), 05 Aug. 1881]
