Frank McGarth to Kathryn Botott

A double ring marriage ceremony in St. Mary church rectory Saturday [08/24/1946] afternoon united in holy matrimony Miss Kathryn Bogott, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bogott of Rock Falls, and Frank Edward McGrath, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank McGrath of Sterling. The Rev. Leo Ambre officiated at 2:30 o’clock.

For her wedding the attractive bride was costumed in a white summer suit, accented by brown accessories. Her shoulder corsage was of red and white roses.

The bride’s sister, Miss Leah Faye Bogott, was her bridesmaid. Her street dress of light blue was also worn with brown accessories and in her corsage were pink roses. John McGrath of Sterling attended his brother as best man.

The bride’s mother wore a sheer black dress with matching accessories, while the groom’s mother was attired in a luggage tan dress with brown accessories. Both wore a corsage of white gardenias.

The reception for 125 guests took place in the Bogott home at 704 West Second street, Rock Falls. Blue and white, Kathryn’s wedding colors, were employed in the refreshment table decorations of candles and flowers. The wedding cake was five-tiered and was surmounted by a miniature bridal ornament.

Mrs. Leonard Powell cut the wedding cake and the refreshments were served by Mrs. E. O. Friday and Mrs. John Young, assisted by Jeanette and Beverly, the bride’s sisters. The guests were registered in the bride’s book by Miss Doris Robinson. Miss Jean Maynard was in charge of the bride’s gift display.

The newlyweds are enjoying a honeymoon before taking up their residence on Eleventh avenue in Rock Falls. For the honeymoon trip the bride chose a gray gabardine suit with black accessories. The groom gave the bride a beautiful double strand of pearls as a wedding gift.

Mrs. McGrath, a graduate from Rock Falls Township high school, is an office employee at the Russell-Burdsall and Ward Bolt and Nut Co. Mr. McGrath, who saw service with the U. S. navy during World war 2 is employed by the Friday Construction Co. He is a n alumnus of Community high school.

The out of town wedding guests were Mr. and Mrs. Williams Pries, Elmer Pries, Frank Knishack, Bertha Shields, Arch Gorby, August Klenske, James Klenske, Edgar Bancroft, Paul Knishack, all of Chicago and vicinity; Walter Bogott and son Bob of Elmhurst; Mr. and Mrs. Ross Bogott of Morrison; Miss Lois Kells of Dixon; Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth William and son Max of Quincy, Ill.
