The couple was attended by the bride's sister, Miss Margaret Osborne of Tampico and the Rev. L. B. Beals of Seneca. Preceding the ceremony Mrs. D.E. Springer sang, "I Love You Truly". She was accompanied by Mrs. L.B. Beals of Seneca. The "Bridal Chorus" from "Lohengrin", was played while the bride and bridegroom took their places at the altar.
For her wedding the bride chose a winter white street-length, wool frock with which she wore turf tan accessories. Her shoulder corsage was of white roses. She wore a gold sweetheart bracelet a gift from the bridegroom. Her sister's dress was street length of slate blue crepe, and her shoulder corsage was of yellow roses. The bride's mother wore a black dress and the bridegroom's mother wore navy blue. Both ladies had shoulder corsages.
Following the ceremony there was a small reception for those in attendance and refreshments were served. A three-tier wedding cake decorated in yellow, green and silver centered the bride's table over which was suspended a white wedding bell. Other decorations were in yellow and brown, the bride's colors. Misses Betty Pope, Betty White and Beth Anderson served as waitresses. They wore yellow aprons, gifts of the bride, and also had yellow rosebuds in their hair.
The young couple left on a wedding trip, destination unrevealed. For traveling Mrs. Davis wore a black alpaca suit and turf tan accessories.
Mrs. Davis was graduated from the grade and high schools at Clayton, Ill., and also from Tampico High school in 1937. For the past three and a half years she has been employed as an operator in the Tampico Farmers Mutual Telephone company. Mr. Davis was graduated from South Hume rural school and from the Tampico high school in 1932, since which time he has been engaged in farming his mother's farm north of Tampico.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Davis are active members of the Tampico Methodist church. Mrs. Davis is the president of the Useful Lives circle and a member of the church choir. The bridegroom is the assistant Sunday school superintendent and also a member of the choir. He is also the worshipful master of Yorktown Lodge A.F. and A.M. of Tampico. They will make their home in furnished rooms in the home of the bridegrooms mother.
Others present at the wedding ceremony and reception besides those named were, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Osborne of Kewanee and Mr. and Mrs. Gene Osborne and Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Denison and daughters Verna Lee, Beverly and Barbara of Tampico.
Date is probably around January 1943
