Miss Arlene Eve Loux Weds Frank W. Duhm at Home Of Bride’s Parents
At a very quiet home wedding which was solemnized at the bride’s parents at eleven o’clock today, Miss Arlene Eve Loux was united in marriage to Frank W. Duhm of this city. The ceremony was witnessed by the member of the immediate families.
The service was said in the parlor of the home, in a corner which was banked with ferns and palms. The bridal party stood beneath a large white wedding bell. Garden flowers were profusely used about the room. Dr. E.C. Harris of St. John’s Lutheran church read the service, the double ring ceremony being used. The only attendants were Miss Faye Bridge who served as bridesmaid and Clarence Duhm, who assisted his brother as best man.
The bride was gowned in white ruffled-organdy and wore a corsage of salmon pink roses and white sweet peas. The bridesmaid wore a frock of pink organdy and like the bride, had a corsage of roses and white sweet peas.
Wedding Dinner
Following the service the bridal party received the congratulations of the guests after which they were served a two course dinner. Mrs. Robert Miller of Rock Falls, acting as cateress. The guests were seated about a long table in the dining room which was decorated with streamers of pink and white. The table decorations were pink and white carnations and the centerpiece was the bride’s cake, a prettily decorated white cake.
Mrs. Duhm is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank W. Loux and has made her home in this city for several years. She has until recently been employed at the J.K. Cress store. Her husband is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Duhm and, like his bride, has made Sterling his home most of his life. He is employed as machinist at the Keystone plant of the International Harvester Co. He and his bride left on the one thirty train for Chicago and Peoria where they will spend a two weeks honeymoon. Upon their return they will be at home to their many friends at 907 Sixth avenue where their home is already furnished.
