Eugene Haak was best man for his brother and the ushers were Wilbert Boynton of Dixon, and Richard Williams of Mt. Carroll, cousins of the bride and Myron Ebersole of Coleta.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a single strand of pearls, the gift of the bridegroom, and carried an arm bouquet of white roses. For something old, she carried her grandmothers wedding handkerchief.

Pastel rose marquisette over taffeta fashioned the maid of honor's dress which was floor length. She carried a colonial bouquet of blue and white mixed flowers. The brides mother chose a black and white dress with white accessories and the bridegrooms mother was in navy blue and white. Their corsages were gardenias . There were white aster boutonnier for the men in the wedding party and the bridegrooms was a white rose.

A reception took place in the dining room of the church for 160 guests. Miss Bernice Hummel, sister of the bride, Miss Marilyn Thomas of Mechanicsville Ia., and Miss Marian Haak, sister of the bridegroom, presided over the refreshment table which was appointed in blue and white and centered with a three-tier wedding cake which was baked by the bride's mother. Others assisting with the serving were Misses Eleanor and Evelyn Haines, Phyllis Scholl, Virginia Main, and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Detwieler. Miss Cathryn Detweiler took care of the guest book and Miss Mildred Boynton had charge of the wedding gifts. The happy couple left immediately on a short wedding trip of unnanounced destination.
