"On Dec. 27th a very pleasant wedding took place at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Homer, No. 304 south street, where their sister, Miss Nettie McNutt, was united in marriage to Mr. James F. Lathe of Morrison, Ill., in the presence of a few invited guests. Rev. J. J. Gruber was the officiating clergyman.
The house was beautifully decorated, and the presents to the bride numerous and costly. After the ceremony a fine supper was served by the hostess. Miss McNutt is well known here, and leaves with the well wishes of a host of friends. Mr. and Mrs. Lathe will be at home to their friends, at Morrison, Ill., after Jan. 10th.
The out of town guests were: Mr. and Mrs. Blair and son of Youngstown; Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Harrah of New Castle, Pa. Mr. and Mrs. Lathe will be tendered a reception on their arrival at Morrison."
The bride has been living with her sister, Mrs. Samuel Thomas of this township, for some time past, and the groom is a son of B. F. Lathe, also of Mt. Pleasant township. The happy couple arrived at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Lathe, on Tuesday, and were accorded a very pleasant and joyful reception by a large number of relatives and friends.
They will reside on the home farm a mile north of town, where all will wish them a life of happiness and success.
A wedding reception was held in this city Tuesday afternoon in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Jas. F. Lathe, nee Miss Nettie McNutt, at the residence of the parents of the bridegroom, Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Lathe, 519 East Main St. Only near relatives were invited. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Milo Chapin of Prophetstown, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Thomas of Newton, Mr. and Mrs. W H. Bloom of Southerland, Iowa, Miss Aggie McNutt of Warren, Ohio, Mrs. D. L. Broyles of Union, Iowa, and the following from Morrison and vicinity: Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Thomas, Mr. and Mrs. Ora Perault, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Seith, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Knox, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Knox, Mr. and Mrs. Fred M. Knox, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Knox, Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Reynolds, Mesdames Mary J. Knox, Minerva Knox and Julia Knox, and Messrs. John Knox, Bert Knox and Ralph Knox. Au elegant dinner was served at two o'clock, the table decorations being carnations, narcissus and smilax. The young couple received a number of beautiful and valuable presents, and innumerable good wishes. The occasion was a very pleasant and enjoyable one and will be remembered with pleasure by all who participated.
