Patrick Reardon
I Patrick Reardon of the town of Troy in the County of Will in the State of Illinois being of sound mind and memory, do, make, publish and declare this to be my last will and testament hereby making and annulling all other and former wills by me, heretofore made.
First: I direct the payment of all my just debts and funeral expenses.
Second: I give, devise and bequeath to my son Francis B. Reardon a life estate in the North half of the South East quarter of Section Twenty three (23) in Township Thirty five (35) North in Range Nine (9) East of the third principal meridian containing eighty (80) acres more or less and being in the County of Will in the State of Illinois. The rents and products of the south eighty (80) acres hereinbefore described to be used and enjoyed by my son Francis B. Reardon during his natural life. The life estate herein bequeathed to the said Francis B. Reardon is bequeathed to him upon the express condition that he shall not in any way dispose of or incumber the same.
Third: At the death of my said son Francis B. Reardon, I give, devise and bequeath to the lawful issue of the body of the said Francis B. Reardon, him surviving, the said North half of the South East quarter of Section Twenty-three (23) in Township Thirty five (35) North and in Range Nine (9) East of the third principal meridian in said Will County and in the event of the death of my said son Francis B. leaving no lawful issue, him surviving, I give, devise and bequeath to my legal heirs the said eighty (80) acres of land hereinbefore described.
Fourth: I give, devise and bequeath to my son Ambrose J. Reardon the North half of the North East quarter of Section Twenty three (23) in Township Thirty five (35) North and in Range Nine (9) East of the third principal meridian containing eighty (80) acres more or less and also the East half of the East half of the South East quarter of Section Fifteen (15) in said Township Thirty five (35) North and in Range Nine (9) East of the third principal meridian, containing forty (40) acres more or less, both of said tracts being in the County of Will in the State of Illinois.
Fifth: I hereby give, devise and bequeath to my sister Jane Reardon Five hundred (500) Dollars to be paid to her by my son Ambrose J. Reardon within one year after my death. Said sum of Five hundred (500) Dollars so to be paid to said Jane Reardon shall be a lien upon the real estate herein devised to said Ambrose J. Reardon until said sum of Five hundred (500) Dollars is paid.
Sixth: I hereby give and bequeath to my son Francis B. Reardon Five (5) cows and one span of two (2) year old colts.
Seventh: I hereby give and bequeath to my son Thomas Reardon Two hundred (200) Dollars said sum including any and all money and interest thereon due him from any funds held by me in trust for him. I also give and bequeath to my said son Thomas Reardon the further sum of Twenty five (25) dollars.
Eighth: I hereby give and bequeath to my son John Reardon Twenty five (25) Dollars.
Ninth: I hereby give, devise and bequeath to my said son Ambrose J. Reardon, all the rest, residue and remainder of my property both real and personal of every kind and description. And I hereby direct that my said son Ambrose J. build or cause to be built, within a reasonable time after my death, a dwelling house on the North half of the South East quarter of the aforesaid Section Twenty three (23). Said house to cost not less than Five hundred (500) Dollars. I also direct that the bequests herein made to Thomas Reardon and John Reardon, respectively be paid by my said son Ambrose J.
Tenth: I hereby appoint my son John Reardon Executor of this, my last will and testament and direct that no security be required of him as such Executor.
Signed, sealed, published and declared by me the said Patrick Reardon to be my last will and testament this Thirtieth (30th) day of May A.D. 1893.

The foregoing last will and testament was signed, sealed, published and declared by the said Patrick Reardon, the testator, as and for his last will and testament, in our presence, and we at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto. The rest of the probate file is held by Patricia Gault, pgault@cox.net. Patrick died October 10, 1893, at his home in Birdís Bridge, Troy, Will County. Sister Jane Reardon married Thomas Whelan shortly after his death.
