Married 2nd Hannah K Morrill, also d/o of a New Hampshire deacon, Daniel Morrill. They adopted Anna born abt 1867 Ill. Benjamin was born abt 1843. Frederick b abt 1841.

Shown: born 1-20-1835, age 19 (1-24-1854) married Elizabeth R Palmer, settling Ridott 6-1-1854. Elizabeth died 2-2-1855, leaving an infant daughter who also died. Moved to Pecatonica 1871, ran a grocery, and remarried 10-12-1880 to Hannah Hollenbeck, who survived him. No children.
What I know: Enumerated 1880 with parents Franklin age 72 b Ma and Nancy M age 70 b Ny. A C.C. Shepard married Eliza Ann Nickle 12-24-1854 which was 11 months after Elizabeth. Need to confirm this is the same Chistopher; also shows a dau Elizabeth b 1-25-1855.

Lived in Canada, then back to Ny. On the trip west, they stayed in Lewiston & Lockport, Niagara co, Ny, and Buffalo, Erie co, Ny, then Racine, Wisc by way of the lakes w/ uncle Mr Wright. His father died 1843, he the eldest and mother w/siblings did all the above moving. Mother remarried and died 1893 in Seward, Winnebago co, John bought land there. By 1852 he married Juliette Martin, owning substanial land in Winnebago and Stephenson co. She was born ca 1836, died 1879 leaving 4 children, one of which died at 10 days old, Albert. Married 2nd Ida Lamb, and lived with her for 22 yrs when she died, then 9-7-1904 he married 3rd Mrs Melvina Wallick. Left an estate valued at $600,000.00, owning some 150 lots in Rockford, land holdings.
