written and submitted by Carroll Feistel

The Miller or (Muller) family arrived in the United States in June or July of 1838.  Members of the family were his Father, Louis Miller and Mother Marie Anne Simon.  Louis and Marie Anne were married April 18, 1820 in Dianne-Cappel Moselle, Lorraine France. His Sister's were Margaret Miller, Mary Barbara Miller, Constance Miller and Rosanna Miller.  Records indicate they lived in Ohio and then on to Woodford County, Illinois.

The Miller (Muller) ancestry is as follows:
Louis A. Miller b. 6-16-1825, d.  6-19-1900.  He married Lydia Woodcock Miller who was b. 3-13-1829  d.  3-31-1883
Grandparents - Louis (Muller) Miller  b. 8-20-1796.  He married Anne Marie Simon  who was b. 2-20-1798
Great-Grandparents - Michael Muller married Marie Catherine Jacquet June 11, 1781 - Michael died Dec. 18, 1818
Great-Great Grandparents of Louis A. Miller - Pierre Muller married Odile Reine in Lorraine France

Louis A. Miller, of Woodford County, Illinois, remained  a widower for ten years.  He then married Nancy J. in 1893, and they moved to Erie, Neosho County, Kansas.  Mr. Miller died June 19, 1900 in Kansas.  His body was returned to Woodford County, and he is buried  next to his beloved Lydia, at the Spring Bay Cemetery.

It's believed that Great Grandfather (Louis) owned a Barrel Factory in the Peoria area and that Jacob Woodcock is Lydia's Father (and my Great-Great-Grandfather).
