County Superintendent of Schools, under whose three adminstrations the cause of secondary education in the county has taken unprecedented steps, the Class of 1923 and the Nautilus Staff respectfully dedicated this Senior Number of the Nautilus.

Two of the teachers of the high school  are leaving this year and their going should not pass without an expression of appreciation of their faithful service. Miss Fitch of the commercial department and Miss Ross of the language department are leaving to continue their study. Miss Fitch goes to the University of Illinois where she will be enrolled in the College of Education and Miss Ross goes abroad to continue her study of French. Both of these teachers have rendered a distinct service to the Eureka Township High School. The language department has flourished under the direction of Miss Ross until her work has attracted the favorably comment of all of the accrediting bodies that have to do with the high school. Miss Fitch, in addition to her successful direction of the commercial department, has also directed the high school music.
