120 MOTHERS UNDER TWENTY YEARS OF AGE

Annual Birth Record Reveals Three Fathers Over Sixty
"Every man ought to get a wife and be a father by the time he is 25," is the statement made by Dr. Charles J. Kurtz, before the Chicago Y. M. C. A., Sunday, and which is stirring the windy city.
Little over half or the Fort Wayne men who became fathers last year were under 30 years old, the annual birth report, which is part ot the yearly record of the city health department, and which is nearing completion, shows.
Of the 1,608 mothers, of children born during 1916, 1,120 of the women were under 30 years of age, the report shows. One hundred and twenty were younger than 20 years.
Of the fathers of children born last year 821 were below 30 years old. Twenty were under 20 years. There were 610 fathers between the ages of 30 and 40 years, and 431 mothers whose ages were between those years.
Of the fathers of children born in 1916, 147 were between the ages of 40 and 50. Fifty-one mothers were between those ages. Fifteen fathers were between 60 and 60, and three were older than 60 years. Of the 1,608 children born in Fort Wayne last year there were 28 twins.
