Melissa's obit is in the Evening Republican Columbus, IN April 9, 1902.
The only thing is that they had the wrong name for her husband.

  Mrs. Alfred Jackson
Mrs. Alfred Jackson, living east of Burnsville, died at 7 o'clock this morning at the age of forty-five years.   She had been sick for some time.   The sincere sympathy of the entire community goes out to Mr. Jackson.   He is well known in the county.   (death record had no time for death, also had her 43 years old and of course, husband's name, Alfred, is wrong)
I found Albert and Melissa on the 1880 Washington twp, Shelby Co., IN census with Josie female, then in 1900 they are in Rockcreek twp, Bartholomew Co., IN census.   Children are Josie A. b Nov 1879, Altie M b. Mar 1882, Ernest Orville b. June 1885 and Minnie b. June 1891.   Melissa died in 1902.
Melissa and Albert were married 09 Feb., 1879, Josie was born 9 months later.   Their license is from Bartholomew Co., IN.   Melissa's name is Melissa Alice Powell on the license.
In the Liberty Review newspaper, Liberty, Montgomery Co. KS Friday May 29, 1891

"Albert Jackson put up the cash last Saturday to send the Review to his father at Burnsville, Ind."   That means that Albert and Melissa Powell Jackson were here in Montgomery County, KS for a while also.  They moved back to Bartholomew Co., IN.
