Mrs. Hulda New dies at the age of Eighty Four
Columbus, Ind. Feb 13
Mrs. Hulda New, aged eighty four years, died Saturday at the home of her son, Thomas New, a few miles east of here, and was buried Sunday. She was one of the county's pioneer settlers.

Columbus, Ind. Nov 14
Miss Luella McCalip, of Crawsfordville, died at the home of her uncle, William McCalip, in this city late last night. The body will be interred at Crawfordsville.

William Newby of this place, accidentally killed himself Tuesday near Cimarron when reaching for his gun in his wagon to shoot a jackrabbit. He recently came here with his people from the east.

William F. Newby, age 32y, 11m, 18d, on Tuesday, November 25 died from an accidental gunshot when lifting his gun from the waagon to shoot a rabbit. He was born December 7, 1851 at Waynesville, Ind. Funeral by Elder A. C. McKeever of the Christian church. Burial was in the city cemetery. (The Garden City Sentinel, December 3, 1884) Submitted by Peggy Thompson

COLUMBUS, Ind. Jan. 27.
William MelIencamp, a wealthy farmer, died unexpectedly at his home, near Waynesville, this county, this morning. He was taken sick last Wednesday with pleurisy, but was not thought to be dangerously ill until shortly before his death.

Columbus, Ind. Dec 28 – William Phipps, aged seventy-eight, died at his home just south of this city, last night of dropsy. He was a pioneer of this county and was the owner of one of the very few mad stones in the United States. He has lived in the city for over forty years and his home has been visited by hundreds of persons fearful of the rabies.
