Columbus, Ind. Dec 28 – William Phipps,
aged seventy-eight, died at his home just south of this city, last
night of dropsy. He was a pioneer of this county and was the owner of
one of the very few mad stones in the United States. He has lived in
the city for over forty years and his home has been visited by hundreds
of persons fearful of the rabies.
