ALLEN

 

 

Funeral services for Maxwell E. Allen Jr., 60, of Georgetown, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 29, at Kraft Funeral Home, Spring Street Chapel. He died Monday, March 27, 2000, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services. He was a member of the Filson Club of Louisville, a former bartender for 25 years at Hasenour’s Restaurant in Louisville, and a current bartender emeritus at the Seelbach in Louisville. Survivors include his wife, the former Dorothy G. Dethy; two sons, Maxwell E. Allen III, Louisville, and Kevin J. Kiesler, Clarksville; two daughters, Beverly G. Hack, Georgetown, Sister Dolores Ann Kiesler, Ferdinand, and Linda M. Kiesler, Atlanta, Ga.; and a grandchild. Visitation at the funeral home will be until 8 p.m. today, Tuesday, March 28, and after 10 a.m. Wednesday. ARNOLD

 

 

Funeral services for John J. Arnold Jr., 81, of Elizabeth, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Elizabeth, with burial in the church cemetery. He died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2007, at Hospice of Louisville. He was a retired equipment operator for CSX Railroad, a farmer and a World War II veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. Survivors include four daughters, Stephanie Faith and husband, Howard, Laconia, Pam Wall, Indianapolis, Melissa Steele and husband, Chris, Louisville and Cynthia Donat and husband, Lyndon, Louisville; a brother, Gilbert Arnold, Louisville; two sisters, Mary Stark, Louisville and Evelyn Regan, Shawnee Mission, Kan.; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Tempie Long Arnold; sons, John and Mark Arnold; and a brother, Don Arnold. Visitation at Gehlbach and Royse Funeral Home in Corydon will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today, Thursday, Aug. 2 , from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and after 8 a.m. Saturday. There will be a Rosary Service at the funeral home on Friday at 7 p.m. There will be military honors at the gravesite. Funeral services for Tempie Arnold, 66, of Elizabeth, will be 11 a.m. Monday, July 22, St. Peter Catholic Church near Elizabeth, with burial in the church cemetery. She died Thursday, July 18, 1996, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services. She was the former Tempie M. Long, a native of Jamestown, Ky., a retired Census Bureau employee in Jeffersonville and a member of American Legion Hornickle Post Auxiliary and Veterans of Foreign Wars New Albany Post Ladies Auxiliary. Survivors include her husband, John Arnold Jr.; a son, John J. Arnold III; daughters Stephanie Faith, Pamela Wall, Melissa Steele and Cynthia Arnold; sisters Juanita Irwin, Virginia Dailey and Lola Bernard; and eight grandchildren. - Jeffersonville Evening News – July 22, 1996– shared by Francie Ede

 

ATKINS

 

 

Private graveside services for Michael Wayne Atkins, infant son of Shawn Atkins and Veronica Turnbow, Jeffersonville, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12, at Kraft Graceland Memorial Park. He died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2000, at Clark Memorial Hospital. Survivors, besides his parents, include grandparents Gary Atkins, Dona Atkins and William and Rose Turnbow; great-grandparents Don and Barbara Atkins, Gilbert and Agnes Ernstberger, Barbara Spencer and Bill and Hazel Turnbow; and great-great-grandparents Mildred Ernstberger and Roland Miller.
