Funeral services for Thomas D. Dale, Sr., 55, 734 N. McKinley Ave., Clarksville, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Kraft Funeral Home, with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery, Jeffersonville. He died Tuesday at Clark County Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Kansas, an Army veteran, a square dance caller and instructor for Silver Steamers Square Dance Club, and a member of the Kentuckiana Callers Association. Survivors include his wife, the former Sharon A. Tyler Constantine; two sons, Thomas D. Dale, Jr., stationed with the Army in West Germany, and John F. Dale, Louisville; two stepsons, John T. and Scott A. Constantine, both of Clarksville; two daughters, Karen Jarvis and Connie Dale, both of Somerdale, New Jersey; four step-daughters, Jan Druin, Louisville, Theresa L. Romeo, Lanesville, and Kim E. Bennett and Sharon L. Funeral services for Bob Day, 75, of New Albany, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. He died Wednesday at his residence. He was a native of New Albany, a retired cabinet and millwork instructor for Prosser School of Technology, an Army veteran of World War II, former Boy Scouts of America scoutmaster of Troop #30, former commander of the Drum and Bugle Corps of Bonnie Sloan Post #28 American Legion, member of the Disabled American Veterans, Mount St. Francis Cursillo Community and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, the former Joann E. Zipp; a son, Robert W. Day Jr. of New Albany; four daughters, Patricia Hedelman of Klamath Falls, Oregon, Chi-Chi Julius of Jeffersonville, Ruth Ann Thompson U. S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Denice Andres of Floyds Knobs; two brothers, Bud Day of New Albany and William Day of Mississippi; two sisters, Terry Stemle of East Lansing, Michigan, and Thelma Fischer of Floyds Knobs; and nine grandchildren. Funeral services for Nicholas H. “Bud” DeMarsh, 59, Georgetown, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Columba Catholic Church, 3514 W. Market Street, with burial in Calvary Cemetery. He died Thursday at St. Anthony Hospital. DeMarsh, formerly of Louisville, was an employee of the Kentucky & Indiana Terminal Railroad Company. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, the former Agnes Marie Delahanty; one son, Joseph N. DeMarsh, Clarksville; two daughters, Mrs. Agnes M. Kiesler, Fordum, Ind., and Mrs. Patricia A. Mann, Georgetown; his father, Joseph M. DeMarsh, Louisville; one brother, Joseph E. DeMarsh, Louisville; four sisters, Mrs. Mary L. Gayle V. Denhart, 67, 2110 Lombardy Drive, Clarksville, died at 6:15 a.m. today at Jewish Hospital, Louisville. She was a native of Palmyra and a retired employee of Sherman’s Drug Store, Louisville. Survivors include a son, Charles Roudenbush Jr., New Albany; a daughter, Mrs. Patricia Grubbs, Louisville; a brother, Lloyd Denhart, New Albany; a sister, Mrs. Charlene Donan, New Albany; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Amelia Missi Dethy, 90, of 4196 E. Luther Road, Floyd Knobs, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery. She died Tuesday at her home. She was a native of New Albany and a member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church. Survivors include her husband, Charles Dethy; two sons, Cletus Dethy of Greenville and James Dethy of Borden; three daughters, Dorothy Allen of Georgetown, Rosalie Schenck of Bradford and Kay Hoehn of New Salisbury; two sisters, Elnora Yochum of Lanesville and Mary Thomas of New Albany; 17 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Visitation at Kraft Funeral Home will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today and noon to 9 p.m. Thursday. Funeral services for Charles M. Dethy, 99, of Floyds Knobs, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring St., New Albany, with burial in St. Mary of the Knobs Cemetery. He died Friday, Dec. 5, 2003, at the home of his daughter in Bradford. He was a native of Floyds Knobs and a retired farmer and logger. He was the former Lafayette Township Trustee, former acting postmaster in Floyds Knobs for four years and a member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church and St. Michael’s Bradford Catholic Church. Survivors include three daughters, Rosalie Schenck and husband, Bernie, Bradford, Dorothy Allen, Georgetown and Kay Hoehn and husband, Herbert, New Salisbury; two sons, Cletus Dethy and wife, Jean, Greenville and Jim Dethy and wife, Joan, Borden; 17 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Amelia and daughter, Sister Elvira Dethy, OSB. Visitation at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring St., New Albany, will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 8. Funeral services for John L. “Larry” Dietrich, 73, of New Albany, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8 at Generations Funeral Home, Ballard Lane, New Albany, with burial in Willey’s Chapel Cemetery. He died Monday, Jan. 6, 2003, at Green Valley Care Center. He was a native of New Albany, an Air Force veteran of the Korean War and retired after 32 years of service at the Ford Truck Plant in Louisville. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Floyd County Post 3281, American Legion Bonnie Sloan Post 28, 40 & 8 Voiture 1250 in New Albany and the Civil Air Patrol, Air Force Association and Southern Indiana Pilot Association. Survivors include his wife, Bertha Murphy Dietrich; a son, Alan Dietrich of Orlando, Fla.; a daughter, Tigre Dietrich, New Albany, stepchildren, Kenny Weber, Jeanine Rakes, Doris Rottet, Phyllis Swartz and Betty Bryant, all of New Albany; and a sister, Doris Braun, Henryville; 17 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation at the funeral home will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today, Tuesday, Jan. 7 and after 9 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8. Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth R. Dizney, 74, 2522 Cannon St., New Albany, were held today at Northside Christian Church, with burial in Graceland Memorial Park. She died Saturday at Highlands Baptist Hospital, Louisville. She was a native of Crawford County and a member of Northside Christian Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Earlene Beck and Mrs. Betty Roudenbush, both of New Albany; a son, Earl W. Dizney, Palmyra; three sisters, Mrs. John Leuthart, Jeffersonville; Mrs. Harry Bailey, Palm Bay, Fla., and Mrs. Mable Bolin, Cannelton; two brothers, Roscoe Real, Dale, and Edward Real, New Albany; 17 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Rita C. Dobbins, 70, of Speed, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 29, at Garr Funeral Home, Sellersburg, with burial in Sellersburg Cemetery. She died Thursday, May 27, 1999, at her residence after an illness. She was the former Rita C. Ott, a native of New Albany, a retired secretary for the pathology department of Jewish Hospital, Louisville, and a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Sellersburg, where she served as choir director. Survivors include her husband, Robert Dobbins; a son, Steven A. Dobbins, Shively, Ky.; three daughters Yvonne Ray, Charlestown, Cindy Alexander, Sellersburg, and Teresa Caldwell, Speed; a sister, Judy Pennell, Madison; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
