Funeral services for Mrs. Warren E. Falk, 56, 2515 E. Oak St., New Albany, will be held Wednesday in Covington, Va. She was the former Joyce V. Quick, a native of Covington, Va. Survivors besides her husband include a son, Steve E. Falk, Borden; a daughter, Rebecca L. Falk, New Albany; her father, Graydon L. Quick, Stewart Draft, Va.; two sisters, Jean Delaney, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Joan Cory Covington; and four grandchildren. Paul V. FESSEL

 

 

George H. Fessel, 69, of R. 1, New Salisbury, died at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday at the Harrison County Hospital, Corydon. Fessel was a retired farmer and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a member of the St. Michael Catholic Church, Bradford, Ind. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Theresa Timperman Fessel; four sons, Charles Fessel, New Salisbury, Jerome Fessel, Corydon, Harold Fessel, Floyds Knobs and Philip M. Fessel, Louisville; three daughters, Mrs. Mary C. Schueler, Princeton, Ky., Mrs. Margaret Smith, New Salisbury and Mrs. Carolyn Schueler, Clarksville; two sisters and 22 grandchildren. Funeral services for Harold J. Fessel, 69, of Floyds Knobs, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 13, at Holy Family Catholic Church, with burial in St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Cemetery. He died Tuesday, March 9, 2004, at his home. He retired with more than 38 years of service from General Electric Company, Louisville and also worked for Robinson Nugent, Inc. in facility maintenance. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Martha J. Schindler Fessel; two sons and two daughters, Mary Theresa Andis and husband, Rex, Floyds Knobs, Harold J. "Joe" Fessel Jr. and wife, Rhonda Smith, New Albany, Joyce L. Mousty Grider and husband, Dan, English and Dennis G. Fessel, New Albany; eight grandchildren, Daniel G. Andis, Rebecca L. "Beckie" Andis, Timothy J. "TJ" Fessel, Hollie M. Fessel, Wade J. Mousty, Amy D. Mousty Schotter and husband, Travis, Daniel Grider and Kelli Grider and two great-grandchildren, Jasmine Schotter and Alexis Grider. He is also survived by five siblings, Charles Fessel, New Salisbury, Mary Catherine Schueler, Owensboro, Ky., Jerome Fessel, Corydon, Margaret Smith, New Salisbury and Carolyn Schueler, Lanesville. Visitation at Generations Funeral Home, 3309 Ballard Ln., New Albany, will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today, Thursday, March 11 and from noon to 8 p.m. Friday. A Rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Funeral services for Phillip Martin Fessel, 47, of Louisville will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael Catholic Church, Bradford, with burial in the church cemetery. He died Sunday at Humana Hospital Audubon. He was a security guard for Johnson Middle School, a native of Harrison County, and a member of Midwestern Housing Association of Colonial Square Co-op. Survivors include his wife, the former Shirley Ray; two daughters, Johanna Bruner and Kimberly Fessel, Louisville; two stepdaughters, Debbie Hatcher and Lisa Stewart, Louisville; two stepsons, Joseph A. and Christopher W. Fabel, Louisville; three brothers, Charles Fessel of New Salisbury, Jerome Fessel of Corydon and Harold Fessel of Floyd Knobs; three sisters, Kay Schuler of Princeton, Margaret Smith of New Salisbury and Carolyn Schuler of Lanesville; and six grandchildren. Visitation at Arch L. Heady & Son Okolona Funeral Home, 8519 Preston Highway, will be until 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral services for Rose Catherine Fessel, 88, of Providence Retirement Home, New Albany, were held today at Providence Retirement Home chapel, with burial in St. Michael Cemetery, Bradford. She died Thursday at Floyd Memorial Hospital. She was a native of Bradford and a member St. Mary Catholic Church. Funeral services for Mrs. Jerome Fessel, 47, R. 2 Corydon, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery. She died Wednesday at Harrison County Hospital. She was the former Viola Smith, an employee of IGA Food Stores and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Deborah Arnold and Mrs. Judith Reed both of Corydon; a son Allen Fessel, Corydon; her mother, Mrs. Lillian Simon, Depauw; two brothers, Jerome Smith, New Salisbury, and Marvin Smith, Floyds Knobs; two stepbrothers, Kenneth Arnold, Darien, Wisc., and Melvin Arnold, Evansville; three sisters, Mrs. Mardell Brooks, Charlestown, and Mrs. Maxine Schwartz and Mrs. Virginia Rosenbarger, both of Depauw; two stepsisters, Mrs. Alice Macarthur, Lewiston, Mich., and Mrs. Joan Walsh, Centerville, O.; and four grandchildren. Visitation at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home, Corydon, will be after 6 p.m. today. Funeral services for Cletus F. Friedman, 80, of Sellersburg, will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31, at St. Joe Hill Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery. He died Sunday, Dec. 28, 1997, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services. He was a native of Jasper, and retired from Kimball Office Furniture Co. in Borden. He was an Air Force veteran and member of St. Joe Hill Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, the former Mary L. Jones; daughters, Jackie Baumann, Brenda Kruer, Becky Gettelfinger and Michelle Kirchgessner, all of Floyds Knobs; brothers, Edwin Friedman of New Albany and Raymond Friedman of Loogootee; sisters, Elvira Denu of Dubois, Laurena Zehr of Birdseye and Martina Stricher of Jasper; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30 at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany. Funeral services for Mary L. Friedman, 81, of New Albany, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 4, at St. Joseph Hill Catholic Church, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. She died Monday, March 1, 1999, at Green Valley Care Center, New Albany. She was the former Mary Jones, a native of Martin County, and a member of St. Joseph Hill Catholic Church, Sellersburg, and Daughters of Isabella. She was a housewife and was preceded in death by her husband, Cletus Friedman. Survivors include four daughters, Jackie A. Baumann, Sellersburg and Brenda M. Kruer, Becky K. Gettlefinger and Michelle A. Kirchgessner, Floyds Knobs; a brother, William Jones, French Lick; three sisters, Eva Emmons of French Lick, Alma Cherry, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Bernice Rankel, South Bend; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Visitation at Kraft Funeral Home, Charlestown Road Chapel, will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, and after 9 a.m. Thursday. Funeral services for Julius Francke 83, a retired farmer,who died Thursday at his home a mile west of Henryville, following a long illness, will be held Saturday morning at 9 o'clock, from St. Francis Catholic Church, Henryville, of which he was a member, with burial in the church cemetery.

Survivors include three sons, Oscar, Charles and Walter Francke, three daughters, Mrs. Dora Coons, Mrs. Sadie Prall and Miss Emerine Francke; two brothers, Charles and George Francke; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Heath and Mrs. Louise Kemper; ten grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Last rites for Mrs. Sallie Frank, 83, who died Sunday at  her home near Henryville, will be held Tuesday morning, at 9 o'clock, from St. Frances Catholic Church, Henryville, of which she was a member, with burial in the church cemetery.

Surviving are her husband, Julius Frank; three sons, Charles, Oscar and Walter Frank; and three daughters, Misses Dora, Sadie and Emerine Frank
