Funeral services for Etta Mae Kemp, 78, of Jeffersonville, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 21, at Coots Funeral Home, with burial in Eastern Cemetery. She died Monday, May 17, 1999, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services. She was the former Etta Mae Jennings, and a native of Burkesville, Ky. Survivors include five sons, James H. Kemp, Sulfur, Harry O. Kemp, New Albany, Luther M. Kemp, Jeffersonville, Kenneth W. Kemp, Arizona, and Dennis L. Kemp, Beechwood; three daughters, Anna H. Thevenot, Palmyra, Mary E. Kemp, Jeffersonville, and Ruth A. Rochner, Corydon; a brother, Harry C. Jennings, Jeffersonville; three sisters, Margaret I. Brown, Zion Ill., Ruth McKinney, Jeffersonville, and Betty H. Funeral services for Jacob A. Kemp, 79, of Jeffersonville, were held today, Monday, Nov. 16, at Coots Funeral Home, with burial in Eastern Cemetery. He died Friday, Nov. 13, 1998 at Clark Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Alton, a retired carpenter’s helper, an Army veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion Post 35 and Hod Carriers Local 795. Survivors include his wife, the former Etta M. Julian Max Kersten, 73, of Borden, died Tuesday, July 11, 2000, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany. He was a native and former resident of Somerset, Ky. He was a retired officer with the Somerset Police Department, and a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War. Survivors include his wife, the former Virginia Engle, Borden. There will be no service. The body was cremated, with Kraft-Royse Generations Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Virginia Engle Kersten, 71, of Starlight, died Tuesday, September 28, 2004, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services. She worked for more than 26 years at Floyd Memorial Hospital  as a nurse's aide and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Starlight. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose Kiesler Engle. Survivors include two sisters, Thelma Bierman and husband, Merrel and Helen Andres and husband Paul, Floyds Knobs; two brothers, Bill Engle and wife Ann, Floyds Knobs and Charles Engle and wife Maurice, Starlight; a sister-in-law, Pearl Engle, New Albany; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Max Kersten; and two brothers, Melvin and Edward Engle. Generations Funeral Home, 3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, is in charge of arrangements. Cremation was chosen and all services will be private. He was a native of Leitchfield, Ky., a retired crane operator for the old International Harvester Co., a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War and a member of Battleship New Jersey Historical Museum Society, American Legion Post 35 and Clark County Conservation Club. Funeral services for Andrew C. Kiesler, 80, of Palmyra, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 12, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Bradford, with burial in the church cemetery. He died Friday, Oct. 9, 1998, at Rolling Hills Health Care Center, New Albany. He was a native of Bradford, an Army veteran of World War II and a retired truck driver and member of Teamsters Union. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1693 in New Albany, the Moose Lodge in Florida and St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Bradford. Survivors include his wife, the former Mary E. Bucher of Palmyra; a granddaughter and one great-grandchild. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He died Wednesday at University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. He was a native of New Albany and a computer specialist with Mini Max Information Systems Inc. in Louisville. Survivors include his wife, the former Deborah J. Bryan; a daughter, Amy S. Kiesler, Clarksville; and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Kiesler of Palmyra. He died Sunday at his home. He was a native of Harrison County and a retired employee of Western Electric. Funeral services for Frank W. Kiesler, father of two Clark County residents, will be at 9 a.m. Thursday in American Martyrs Catholic Church, Scottsburg, with interment in St. Michael Cemetery at Bradford. Kiesler, 69-year-old retired farmer and mill operator, died Monday in St. Joseph Infirmary, Louisville. He was a fourth-degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Kiesler formerly served as a director of the Falls City Co-op and the Harrison County Bank at Palmyra. Surviving are his wife, the former Agnes Gettelfinger; three sons, Clement Kiesler, Jeffersonville, Dr. Anthony H. Kiesler, Kirkwood, Ill., and Francis Kiesler, Scottsburg; two daughters, Mrs. James C. Cecil, Anchorage, Ky., and Mrs. John S. Peterson, Sellersburg; a brother, George Kiesler, New Salisbury, a sister, Mrs. Margaret Fessel, Bradford, and 16 grandchildren. The rosary will be prayed at 8 o’clock tonight at the Gene H. Funeral services for Joseph F. Kiesler Sr., 60, of New Albany, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 9, at Seabrook, Dieckmann & Naville Market Street Funeral Home, with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. He died Tuesday, Aug. 6, 1996, at his home. He was a native of Fredericksburg, a retired owner and trainer of thoroughbred horses in Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana Circuits, retired from the Floyd County Sheriff’s Department, and was former owner of the old Kiesler Texaco in New Albany. He was a member of Depauw Masonic Lodge 338, the Horseman’s Benevolent Protective Association, and Graceland Southern Baptist Church.  Survivors include his wife, the former Marlene E. Maier; two sons, Joseph F. Kiesler Jr., Mt. Washington, Ky., and Kevin A. Kiesler, New Albany; a daughter, Melissa Ann Kiesler-Smith, New Albany; two half-brothers, Earl and Donald Kiesler, both of Indianapolis; two sisters, Mary Rose Byerly of New Albany, and Helen Siltz, Jeffersonville; two half-sisters, Shirley Baker, Indianapolis and Kathleen Caudill, Jeffersonville; his step-mother, Norma Kiesler of English; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Patricia Elaine Kiesler, 52, is now watching over her family from Heaven. She passed away Friday, July 14, 2006, at her home in Greenville, after a 10 year battle with breast cancer. She was formerly Patricia Jenney of New Albany, graduating from New Albany High School in 1971. Pat worked at the Sweet Shop in Sellersburg, Wolf’s Supermarket, Ben Snyder’s Department Store then Winn Dixie on State Street in New Albany until she quit to follow her hearts passion of being a full time wife and mother. Pat attended Jacobs Chapel United Methodist Church. She is survived by her mother, Melba Landers Jenney of New Albany and father, Milton Jenney of Jeffersonville; her husband, Douglas Kiesler; children, Wesley Kiesler, Travis Kiesler and Kellie Jo Kiesler; daughters-in-law, Heather Hunt Kiesler and Jennifer Mitchell Kiesler; grandchildren, Corbin Kiesler and Madison Elaine Kiesler; sisters, Phyllis Huffman and Laurie Huber; 9 nieces and nephews; one great niece; and many other family members and friends. Frank J. Kimmel, 59, 409 E. Riverside Drive, Jeffersonville, died Wednesday at Clark County Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Louisville, retired department manager at Colgate-Palmolive Co., a Navy veteran of World War II, and a member of Clark Masonic Lodge No. 40. Survivors include his wife, the former Mary Jean Campbell; a son, Steven H. Kimmel, Jeffersonville; a daughter, Lisa J. Ernstberger, Muncie; a brother, Thomas D. Kimmel, Jeffersonville; and three grandsons. The body will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church. Funeral services for Edward J. Koetter Jr., 71, of Starlight, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 15, at St. John the Baptist Church, Starlight, with burial in St. John the Baptist Church Cemetery. He died Monday, June 12, 2006, at Providence Retirement Home, New Albany. He was best known for his work at Koetter Construction Company and his selfless service to family and friends. He served in the Indiana National Guard and was a member of the Cardinal Ritter Council 1221 Knights of Columbus and St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Starlight. The son of the late Edward J. Koetter Sr. and Lucille Klein Koetter, he was born Oct. 9, 1934, in Lenexa, Kan. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Koetter and a sister, Mary Jean Smith. Survivors include his dedicated and loving wife of 50 years, Mary (Loew) Koetter; daughters, Becky Missi and her husband, Mike, of Starlight, Brenda Brown and her husband, Pat, Greenville and Maria Merrill and her husband, Tres, of Gig Harbor, Wash.; a son, Bruce Koetter and his wife, Lisa, New Albany; two brothers, Bob and Tom Koetter; nine grandchildren; and was awaiting the birth of his first great-grandchild. He died Monday at his home. He was a native of Borden, a retired farmer, a former director of the Clark County Farm Bureau Co-op, a former Clark County councilman and a former director and treasurer of Borden Tri County Water District. He was a member of St. John Starlight Catholic Church and the men’s club of the church. Survivors include his wife, the former Lucille Klein; four sons, Robert Koetter Sr. of Floyds Knobs and William, Edward Jr. and Thomas Koetter, Borden; two sisters, Mary Huber and Rosalena Stumler, Borden; 23 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary J. Smith. Visitation at Kraft Funeral Home will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday. She was the former Lucille A. Klein and a native of Lenexa, Kan. Survivors include four sons, Robert Koetter Sr. of Floyds Knobs and William, Edward Jr. and Tommy Koetter, all of Borden; 23 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. Funeral services for William L. Kopatz, 63, of 1800 Dutch Lane, Jeffersonville, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Grace Lutheran Church, New Albany, with burial in Resthaven Memorial Park, Louisville. He died Friday at Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He was a native of Louisville, a retired dispatcher for Industrial Disposal Company and a former employee of the old Belknap Hardware Company, both in Louisville. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion Post 42, Forty & Eight Voiture 1250 and the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 16. Survivors include his wife, the former Wilma Corcoran; two sons, A. Stephen Kopatz and D. Barry Kopatz, both of Louisville; two daughters, June L. Meredith and Karen Y. Kopatz, both of Louisville; five stepchildren; two brothers, Fred Kopatz Jr. of Louisville and Robert Kopatz of New Albany; and five grandchildren. Visitation at Dieckmann Funeral Home will be from 1 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Timothy Kopp, age 11 months R. 1, Palmyra, died at Children’s Hospital, Louisville, Sunday. He was the infant son of Mrs. George Wilson and Jerry W. Kopp Sr., Clarksville, He is also survived by his maternal grandparents, Mrs. Danny Reed, New Albany and Paul Bush, New Albany; paternal grandparents, Mrs. Katherine Kopp, New Albany and Donald Kopp, New Albany; great-grandmothers, Mrs. Marion Cotner and Mrs. Cora Riggle, both of New Albany, and Mrs. Bertha Kopp, Corydon. Funeral services for Albert Korb, 70, of 2813 W. Main St., Louisville, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Schoppenhorst & Underwood Funeral Home, 1832 W. Market St., with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. He died Friday at Veterans Administration Medical Center in Louisville. He was a retired self-employed painter and an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, the former Carmer Ball; two daughters, Frances Goodman of St. Louis and Jeanette Campbell of Louisville; a stepdaughter, Dora M. Hugart of Tampa Bay, Fla.; two sons, Ronnie Korb of New Albany, and Alan Korb of Louisville; a stepson, Leonard Friedell of Utah; a brother, Robert Korb of Clarksville; and 14 grandchildren. A funeral Mass for Agnes Receveur Krekel, 98, of Clarksville, will be held at noon Wednesday, March 21, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Clarksville, with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery, Louisville. She died Saturday, March 17, 2007. She was a native of Floyds Knobs, and long time bookkeeper for Geo. M. Krekel Jewelers in downtown Louisville. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Clarksville. Survivors include her sons, George M. Krekel Jr. and his wife, Joanne and Donald J. Krekel and his wife, Ruby; daughters, Joyce A. Koeberlein and Diane M. Wibbels and her husband, John Dan; 15 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, George M. Krekel Sr.; her parents, Anna Receveur Ott and Edward Receveur; an infant son, Edward M. Krekel; a son-in-law, Robert Koeberlein; siblings, Mary Receveur, Donald Receveur, Gertrude Receveur, Dorothy Vanden Eynden and Margaret Sermershiem; an infant granddaughter, Mary K. Wibbels; and a great-granddaughter, Kathleen Mae Ellison. The family extends special thanks for the loving care given by the staff and friends at Twinbrook Nursing Home. Visitation at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring St., New Albany, will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 20 and after 10 a.m. Wednesday. Funeral services for Mrs. Eleanor L. Kruer, 65, of New Albany, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Joseph Church with burial in the church cemetery. The rosary will be recited at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday at the Kraft Funeral Home. She died at 9 a.m. Sunday at the St. Joseph Infirmary in Louisville. The former Eleanor L. Roberts, Mrs. Kruer lived near St. Joseph, Ind. She was a member of the St. Joseph Hill Catholic Church. Survivors are her husband, Joseph P. Kruer; six sons, William and Wilfred Kruer, at home, Robert, Gerald and Ronald Kruer, all of Floyds Knobs, and Roy Charles Kruer, Greenville; two daughters, Miss Mary Jane Kruer, at home, and Mrs. Betty Jane Koetter, Borden; and 18 grandchildren. He died Thursday at his farm in Floyds Knobs. Survivors include his wife, the former Alma Zimmerman; five sons, Roy Kruer, Henryville, William, Jerry, Ronald and Robert Kruer, all of Floyds Knobs; two daughters, Mrs. Betty J. Koetter, Clarksville, and Mary J.
