NAVILLE
Funeral services for Mary L. Naville, 84, of New Albany, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 28, at Speed Memorial Church, with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. She died Saturday, Dec. 23, 2006, at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville. She was the former Mary L. Dietrich, a native of Speed, a retired longtime employee of the New Albany Bureau of Motor Vehicles, a member of the Amiche Club, Sigma Alpha Epsilon Sorority and Speed Memorial Church. She was an avid golfer and bowler and loved being outside doing yard work or nothing at all. Survivors include a son, Bob Naville and his wife, Patti, Floyds Knobs; four daughters, Chris Naville Jones and her husband, Tom, Clarksville, Sandy Stephens, New Albany, Ann Naville, Clarksville and Nancy Savely and her husband, Leroy, Floyds Knobs; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, G. William “Bill” Naville Jr.; and her parents, Joseph and Mary Melvina Dietrich. Visitation at the Market Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann and Naville Funeral Homes will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27 and from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 28, at the church. Funeral services for Carl C. Newton, 55, father of a local resident, will be at 9 a.m. Friday at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, 760 Eastern Parkway, with burial in Resthaven Memorial Park. The body is at Ratterman’s Funeral Home, 2815 S. Fourth Street, Louisville. He died at 5 p.m. yesterday at St. Joseph Infirmary, Louisville. A native of Rome, Ga., his residence was 555 Eastern Parkway, Louisville. Newton was an employee of Louisville Textile Company for 35 years. Surviving are his wife, the former Catherine A. Ferg; a son, Joseph Meiners, Jeffersonville; a daughter, Mrs. Raymond Rhodes, Louisville, and two brothers, Sam and Robert Newton, Both of Knoxville, Tenn. - Jeffersonville Evening News – August 14, 1968– shared by Francie Ede
Funeral services for Francis Xavier Newton, 71, Providence Retirement Home, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Michael Catholic Church in Bradford, with burial in the church cemetery. He died Sunday at Floyd Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Nelson County, Ky., and a retired farmer. Survivors include three sons, Anthony Newton, New Salisbury, Thomas Newton, Palmyra and Michael Newton, Floyds Knobs; seven daughters, Helene Hart, Louisville, Mary Koetter, Borden, Joan Dohoney, Greenville, Rita Becht, Paoli, Kate Lasley, New Salisbury, Carol Smith, Ramsey, and Jane Wiseman, New Albany; his father, Francis X. Newton Sr., Bardstown, Ky.; a sister, Izola Riggs, Louisville; 25 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services for John Henry Nolot, 71, of R. 2, New Salisbury, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Frenchtown, with burial in the church cemetery. He died Tuesday at his home. He was a retired employee of Keller Manufacturing Co. Survivors include his wife, the former Marie Morrison; a son, Keith Nolot of Depauw; two daughters, Mrs. Bonnie Fessel, New Salisbury and Mary F. Jenkins of Jeffersonville; a stepson, Robert F. Morrison of Fern Creek, Ky.; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Laverne Capozziello of Marion Oaks, Fla.; a sister, Mrs. Lillie Bell of New Albany; 17 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
