| Alton is located in
the township of Boone. The town sits overlooking the Ohio River to
the south and the Blue River to the East. Alton was founded in 1838 it
was first called Nebraska and later changed to Alton in 1850.
Henry Fullenwider was a leading citizen in Alton. He built a mill near his home. He was elected district trustee for District No. 4. |
