Boone Township
Communities of Alton and Deuchers are located in Boone Township. It's southern boarder is the Ohio River and the Little Blue River serves as it's eastern boarder. To it's west is Perry County. Cemeteries in Boone Township are Birds Cemetery, Flower Point Cemetery, Fullenwider Cemetery, Orchard Knob Cemetery, and Riddle Cemetery.
Jennings Township
Communities of Carefree, Curby, Leavenworth, Magnolia, Pilot Knob, Tower and Wyandotte are located in Jennings Township. Jennings Township was named after Governor Jennings.
Johnson Township
Community of Eckerty is located in Johnson Township.
Liberty Township
Community of Marengo is located in Liberty Township.
Ohio Township
Communities of Artist Point, Beechwood, Cape Sandy, Fredonia, Jericho, and Riddle are located in Ohio Township. Located in Southern Crawford County the Ohio River serves as a portion of its eastern boarder and all of its southern boarder. The Little Blue River serves as the boundary between Ohio and Boone Townships to its west. Union Township boarders the northwest, while Sterling and Jennings Township boarders the northeast.
Patoka Township
Communities of Riceville, Taswell, and Wickliffe are located in Patoka Township. It is located in the northwestern corner of Crawford County. Sterling Township borders the east side, while Johnson Township boarders the south. Orange County is to its north, while Dubois County is to its north. Patoka was named after the Patoka River which runs close by.
Sterling Township
Communities of Brownstown , English, and Temple are located in Sterling Township. English is the county seat. Cemeteries in Sterling Township are Cunningham Cemetery, Denbo Cemetery, Grant Cemetery, Hamilton Cemetery, Land Cemetery, Pleasant Ridge (Tick Ridge) Cemetery, Purkhiser Cemetery, Seton Cemetery, Sloan Cemetery and Stewart Cemetery. Originally called Mount Sterling and later changed to Sterling was named after Mount Sterling, Kentucky which both gained the name from Lord Sterling who was an American General in the Revolutionary War.
Union Township
Communities of Grantsburg, Mifflin, Sulphur, Sulphur Springs, and West Fork are located in Union Township.
Whiskey Run Township
Communities of Hogtown and Milltown are located in Whiskey Run Township. Whiskey Run was named after an Indian named Ouiska. The creeks were called runs and Ouiska lived on a small creek. Settlers were friendly with this Indian and often spoke of Ouiska Run, which later became Whiskey Run.
