Will of Friedrich Gossman
Last Will and Testament of Friedrich Gossman.      I Freidrich Gossman of Dubois County in the State of Indiana being low in health but of sound and disposing mind and memory, and being desirous of settling my worldly affairs, that while I have Strength and Capacity so to do, I do make and publish this my last will and testament, that is say: I give and bequeath to my son Jacob Gosman all of my property, for him to expose of as he may deem proper.     In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 21st day of March 1871. (signed) Friedrich Gosman {seal}   Signed sealed and delivered in presence of us  (signed) Edward Buchart   and John Geppner         The State of Indiana Dubois County SS            Be it remembered that on the 26th day of April 1871 Edward Buchart one of the subscribing witnesses to the within and foregoing last will and testament of Frederick Gossman, late of said County deceased personaly appeared before Bazil B Edmonston  Clerk of the Court of Common Pleas of Dubois County, in the State of Indiana and being duly sworn by the Clerk of said court upon his oath declared and testified as follows:  that is to say that on the 21st day of March 1871, he saw the said Frederich Gossman sign his name to said instrument in writing as and for his last will and testament; and that this deponent at the same time heard the said Frederick Gossman declare the said instrument in writing to be his last will and testament and that the said instrument in writing was at the same time at the request of the said Frederick Gossman and with his consent attested and subscribed by the said Edward Buchart & John Geppner in the presence of said  testator, and in the presence of each other as subscribing witnesses thereto, and that the said Fredrich Gossman was at the time of subscribing and signing of said instrument in writing as aforesaid, of full age, that is more than twenty-one years of age and of sound and disposing mind and memory, and not under any coercion or restraint as the said deponent verily believes and further deponent  say not  (signed_ Edward Buchart       Sworn and subscribed by the said Edward Buchart before me  Bazil B. Edmonston, Clerk      In attestation whereof  I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed the sseal of said court (signed) Bazil B Edmonston, Clerk            State of Indiana Dubois County SS      I Bazil B Edmonston  Clerk of the Court of Common Pleas of Dubois County Indiana, do hereby certify that the within annexed will and testament of Frederick Gossman   has been duly admitted to probate and duly proved by the testimony of Edward Buchart one of the subscribing witnesses thereto that a complete record of said will, and of the testimony of the said Frederick Goszman in proof there of has been by me duly made and recorded in Book 2, at pages 17-18 &19 of the Records of Wills of Said County.          In attestation whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed the seal of said Court at Jasper  this 26 day of April 1871      (signed)  Bazil B. Will of Mary T.J. Gossman

In the Name of God, Amen        I, Mary Theresa Jane Gossman, of Jasper, Dubois county, Indiana,  being of sound mind and memory, but desirous to settle my worldly affairs, do hereby make and publish this my last will and testament, Revoking hereby all former will made by me at any time heretofore.     Item 1.  I give and bequeath to my beloved brother Peter J. Gossman, Jr. all the personal property, that I may own at the time of my death, including all my household and kitchen furniture.    Item 2.  I also give, bequeath and devise to my beloved brother, Peter J. Gossman, Jr.  for him to hold in fee simple, all the following described real-estate situated in the town of Jasper, Dubois County, Indiana, to Wit:  Part of lot number thirty two (32) in the original town of Jasper, more particularly described as follows, to wit:  Commencing Thirty feet north of the South West corner of said lot number thirty two (32) thence running east one hundred feet, thence north, twenty three feet, thence west one humdred feet, thence South, twenty three feet to the place of beginning.  Also the South half of lot number two hundred and thirteen (213), also of the original town of Jasper.  In Testimony Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal, this 8th day of February, 1900   (signed) Mary Treasey Jane Gosmann  {seal}    Signed and acknowledge by Mary Threase Jane Gossman, to be her last Will and Testament in our presence, and signed by us in her presence, as attesting witnesses there to.  (signed)  John A. Brang {seal}   P.J. Gossman {seal}             State of Indiana, Dubois County, ss.     Be it remembered that on the 31st day of October 1902  P. J. Gosman, one of the subscribing witnesses to the within and foregoing last Will and Testament of Mary T. J. Gosman, late of said county deceased personally appeared before the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Dubois County Indiana and being duly sworn  by the clerk of said Court upon his oath declared and testified as follows, that is to say, that on the 8th day of February 1900 he saw the said Mary T. Jane Gosman sign her name to the said instrument in writing as and for her last will and testament, and that the said instrument in writing was at the same time at the request of the said Mary T. Jane Gosman and with her consent attested and subscribed by the said John A. Brang and P.J. Gosman in the presence of said testatrix and in the presence of each other, as subscribing witnesses thereto and that the said Mary T. Jane Gosman was at the time of signing and subscribing of said instrument in writing as aforesaid of full age (that is more then twenty one years of age) and of sound  and disposing mind and memory and not under any coercion or restraint as the said deponent verily believes and further deponent says not.  (signed) P. Jane Gosman has been duly admitted to probate and duly proved by the testimony of P. J. Will of Andrew J. Gossman

In the Name of God Amen.   I the undersigned, Andrew J. Gossman of Jasper, Dubois County, Indiana, A member of Branch (No 119) one hundred and nineteen Catholic Knights of America, located at Jasper, Indiana, do hereby will and bequeath to my beloved wife Mary M. Gossman the amount of two thousand Dollars  $2000.00 I have and hold in said Branch (No.119) under certificate No. 18209 of the said Catholic Knights of America.  And it is my last wish and desire that after my death, the officers of said Branch, No. 119, pay unto my beloved wife, Mary M. Gossman, the said sum of two thousand dollars, amt. I do herby designate and appoint my friend and Brother member Mathias Klingel to see that this my last wish and desire is carried out.  In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 24th day of November 1888.  Andrew J. Gossman {seal}     Peter J. Gossman and Joseph F. Sermersheim, Witnesses         We the undersigned do hereby certify that the above named Andrew J. Gossman signed and acknowledged the above and foregoing Instrument in writing to be his last will and desire, and are in his presence and in the presence of each other have signed our respective names as attesting witnesses thereto this 24th day of November 1888. Signed Peter J. Gossman and Joseph F. Sermersheim                                                  Codicil to the above last will and Testament     I the undersigned Andrew J. Gossman, do hereby further state, that it is my will and desire that my beloved wife Mary M. Gossman shall loan out at Interest the sum of Fifteen Hundred dollars $1500.00 out of the above two thousand dollars and that she shall have the use and benefit of all the interest that may accumulate on said Fifteen hundred Dollars as long as she lives, provided she will not marry again.  But in said case my said widow Mary M Gossman, should again Mary[note: as written] or die, there in that case, the above named fifteen hundred dollars and the interest due thereon shall be equally divided amongst my four beloved children namely Martin A., Theresia M.J., Peter J. and Clara C. Gossman, they all to share  share alike.  But the other five hundred dollars shall be the whole and sole property of my beloved wife Mary M. Gossman for her own use and benifit, and after her death to revert to my about named children and Mathias Klingel shall assist my wife to Execute my above wish.  Witness my hand and seal in the presence of the undersigned witness this 10th day of December 1888.   Peter J. State of Indiana, Dubois County -- S.S.        Be it remembered, that on the 17 day of December A. D. 1888  Peter J. Gossman on of the subscribing witnesses to the within and foregoing last Will and Testament of Andrew J. Gossman late of said County deceased, personally appeared before the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Dubois, in the State of Indiana and being duly sworn by the Clerk of said Court upon his oath, declared and testified as follows,  that is to say that on the 24th day of November 1888 he saw the said Andrew J. Gossman sign his name to said Instrument, as and for his last Will and Testament, and that this deponent, at the same time heard the said Andrew J. Gossman declare the said instrument in writing to  be his last Will and Testament and that the said instrument in writing was, at the same time, at the request of the said Andrew J. Gossman and with his consent attested and subscribed by the said Peter J. Gossman & Joseph F. Sermersheim in the presence of said testator and in the presence of each other, as subscribing witnesses thereto, and that the said Andrew J. Gossman was at the time of the signing and subscribing of said instrument in writing, as aforesaid of full age (that is more than twenty-one years of age) and of sound and disposing mind and memory, and not under any coercion or restraint, as the said deponent verily believes, and further deponent says that on the 10th day of December 1888 Andrew J. Gossman signed and acknowledged the execution of the annexed codicil to his last Will.   (signed) Peter J. Gosman         Sworn to and subscribed by the said Peter J. Gossman before me Ignatz Eckert Clerk  D.C.C.        In attestation whereof, I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed the seal of said Court   Ignatz Eckert Clerk Dubois Circuit Court,  State of Indiana, Dubois County S.S.S.   Ignatz Eckert Clerk of the Circuit Court of Dubois County, Indiana do hereby certify that the within annexed Will and Testament of Andrew J. Gossman has been duly admitted to probate and duly proved by the testimony of Peter J. Gossman, one of the subscribing witnesses thereto, that a complete record of said will, and the testimony of the said Peter J. Gossman in proof thereof, has been by me duly made and recorded in Booke 3 at pages (left blank) of the Record of Wills of Said County.     On attestation whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed the seal of said Court at Jasper this 17th day of December 1888.      Ignatz Eckert, Clerk    Dubois Circuit Court
