The Ham Family cemetery is located in
the northeast quarter of Section 24, township 4 South, Range 3 East
about three and one/half miles south of Corydon on the James Wiseman
Farm in Harrison township, Harrison County, Indiana.
Mr. Wiseman estimated that there were over thirty buried there before
he bought the farm. Mr. Benton Windell furnished this information which
he and Mr. Wiseman copied from the few remaining stones in March 1967.
DAVID HAM: born March 23, 1772
died 1817
David Ham homesteaded this farm on which the cemetery is located, but
the deed was not recorded until 1823 after his death.
ABSALOM CHENOWITH: born April
7, 1774 died June 21, 1837
RHODA: born April 11, 1785
died Feb. 16, 1857
Wife of David Ham, married second to Charles Blythe and third to
Absalom Chenowith.
David Ham married Rhoda last name unknown before coming to Indiana.
Rhoda Ham widow of David Ham married charles Blythe August 6, 1819
marriage performed by Joseph NcMahan, their daughter Nancy Ann Blythe
married Farquar McRae. Rhoda Ham Blythe married Absalom Chenowith on
December 30, 1834.
Charles Blythe, Rhoda's second husband died in 1823 and is buried in
the blythe Cemetery in Harrison Township.
JOHN SHUCK: died 1832 age 4
years old
Son of John and Mahalia (nee.Ham) Shuck
PATRICK BIRD: born 1793 died
July 29, 1828
He homesteaded the 160 acres just east of the Ham farm, Patrick Bird
married Mary Petete on January 29, 1823 according to the Harrison
county Marriage Records.
