Deed Bk.W-4,Pg.33. April 20, 1918. Trustees of the Church of Christ, Dr. L.L. Bulleit, O.C.Lidikay, and Thomas Jones deceased, convey to Mrs. Sherman Briscoe, Cora Briscoe, John Roehm, M.G. Roehin, Mrs. Joseph Vaughn, and Philip Seacat, Trustees of the Depauw Methodist Church, Lot 60, same description as above.
This was one of the churches that merged to form Unity Chapel.

Misc.Bk.36,Pg.346. Aug. 29, 1981. Paul R. Barden and wife Geneva convey to Faith Assembly, Inc. the following Trustees, Kenneth M. Hedden, Terry M. Davis and James F. Snellen, the real estate described above.

 

METHODIST CHURCH BLUE RIVER TWP.

Deed Bk.D, Pg.93, March 23, 1820. Blue River Twp. Benj. King conveys to John Hancock, Samuel Hancock, Thomas Polston, John Royse, and Eli Wood as trustees in trust, all the estate right, title in trust property, claim whatsoever which he the said Benj. King has to a certain lot, beginning at a sugar tree and red oak at King’s spring, thence South sixty three poles..., containing and laid out for two acres and 10 poles.
That the trustees should build or cause to be erected a house of worship for the use of the members of the Methodist Episcopal Church, according to the rules and discipline of said church in its present organized state. That they shall at all times forever permit such preachers or ministers duly authorized by the General Conference of the ministers of the Methodist Episcopal Church to preach.
Benj. King Sr. received from the government, Jan. 22, 1819, all of the SW Quarter of Sect. 20, Twp. 1, Range 3. This is recorded in the Tract Book of Harrison Co. where all first owners of land are recorded.

MT. PLEASANT METHODIST

Deed Bk.P,Pg.457. Aug. 21, 1844. Blue River Twp. Wm. Goldsbery and wife Miriam, convey to John Goldsbery, Abraham B. Rankin, John Rankin, Wm. Goldsbery, Alfred Sigler, Trustees of the Methodist Episcopal Church, a certain parcel of land where the Mt. Pleasant Meeting House stands, for the use and only use of the members of the Methodist Episcopal Church to wit: It being in the SE Quarter of the SW Quarter of Sect. 2, Twp. 2, Range 3, containing two acres, and also a lot in said quarter on the said section line that is now in use for a burying ground.
Deed Bk.Z-2,Pg.3O4. July 6, 1879. Methodist Church Election. At Mt. Pleasant Church the following were elected trustees of the church Hamilton Seacat, Monroe Seacat, Benjamin F. Davis, Runion Ellis and Robert Armstrong.

UNITED BRETHREN CHURCH, BRADFORD

Deed Bk.W-3, Pg.294. March 31, 1896. Adaline Martin and her husband James M. convey to the trustees of the proposed church of the United Brethren in Christ at Bradford,
for the sum of $100, the following real estate to wit: Lot 136 in the East Addition of the town of Bradford.
From Rev. Condo: “In the year 1831 or 32, Rev. Henry Bonebrake organized the church in the community of Bradford. In 1851 the church purchased a lot in the town, and since
that time they have had a church home in the town." The author has been unable to find the earlier deed.

PALMYRA METHODIST CHURCH

Deed BL.S, Pg.309. May 17, 1847. Hays McCallen and wife Susanna, convey to James M. Keithley, Peter C. Senseny, Nathan Deweese, John McKenzie, and John Lightner, Trustees of the Methodist Episcopal Church to wit: Beginning at a stone 40 feet North, 15 degrees East from the NW corner Lot 41 on State Street in the town of Palmyra.
containing 8382 square feet of land.
Deed Bk.R-2, Pg.28. Election Certificate of M.E. Church at Palmyra. This is to certify that at a meeting of the Quarterly Conference of Greenville Circuit held at Palmyra, July 22, 1871, the following persons were appointed trustees for the Methodist Episcopal Church at the aforesaid Palmyra, Richard Ransom, Wm. Jones, A.J. Littell, James Rippey, and John Martin.
