CORYDON DEMOCRAT OBITUARY – 12/25/1991
Eulah Hess King, 76, Lanesville, died Thursday at her home. She was a native of New Middletown and a retired nurses’ aide at Providence Retirement Home. Survivors include four sons, Jay D. Hess of Corydon, William and Orman Hess, both of New Albany, and Jerald Hess of Louisville; two daughters, Judy Wibbles and Mary Ann Hess, both of Louisville; two brothers, the Rev. Jack Wolfe of Springfield, Tenn., and Art Wolfe of Louisville; 10 grandchildren and a great-grandchild. The funeral was Sunday at Highland Baptist Church, Edwardsville, with burial at St. Mary Cemetery. Gehlbach and Royse Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

CORYDON DEMOCRAT OBITUARY – 12/11/1991
Wilma M. Rippy Knable, 76, New Albany, died Saturday at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany. She was a native of Georgetown. Survivors include three daughters, Patricia Whelan of Owensboro, Mary M. Smith of Greenville, and Dolores Geiger of New Albany; two brothers, Rex Rippy of Joliet, Ill., and Colvin Rippy of New Albany; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. The funeral was held Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic Church, with burial at Holy Trinity Cemetery. Kraft Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

CORYDON DEMOCRAT OBITUARY – 09/08/1965
Mrs. Anna S. Kochert, resident of Bradford, died at 7:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Ann’s Nursing Home in Huntingburg. She was 82 years of age and the widow of Peter Kochert. A native of Harrison County, she was the former Anna Weisenberger. Mrs. Kochert was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church at Bradford, St. Ann’s Altar Society and the oblate of St. Benedict. The body was at the Kraft Funeral Home in New Albany. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. Michael’s Church. Burial was in the church cemetery. Survivors include five sons, Bernard Kochert, Palmyra, Leonard Kochert, Arizona, Francis Kochert, Lanesville, Harlan and Clemence Kochert, New Salisbury; six daughters, Sister Agatha Marie, OSF, Cincinnati, Sister Seranthica OSF, Oldenburg, Mrs. Evelyn Jacobi, Palmyra, Mrs. Lucille Buechler, New Salisbury, Mrs. Mary Jenkins, Fairborn, Oh., and Mrs. Anna Smith, Dayton, Oh.; a brother Tony Weisenberger, Mississippi, a sister, Mrs. Anna Bauer, New Albany; 40 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

CORYDON DEMOCRAT OBITUARY – 02/13/1946
Anthony Kochert, well known and highly respected citizen of Franklin Township, passed away last Wednesday at noon at his home in Lanesville. Death was caused from an illness of liver trouble, which he had suffered for several months. Mr. Kochert was sixty-four years of age. He was the son of the late Peter and Josephine Kochert and was born and reared in the community in which he died. The deceased was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Mr. Kochert owned and operated the Lanesville Milling Company with his sons for the past twenty-five years. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Bertha Kochert, three sons and two daughters, Maurice and Paul Kochert of Lanesville, James Kochert S2c U. S Navy, Puerto Rico, Miss Ruth Kochert, Lanesville and Mrs. Pearl Engle of New Albany. He also leaves two brothers and three sisters, Peter and Frank Kochert and Miss Josephine Kochert of Lanesville, Mrs. Theresa Schellenberger of Georgetown and Sister Maxilinda of Oldenburg. Requiem mass was conducted at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Lanesville last Friday morning by Rev. Fr. Albert Lies of Mt. St. Francis. Interment was in the church cemetery nearby.

CORYDON DEMOCRAT OBITUARY – 09/27/1972
Bernard Kochert, 65, of Bradford, died at 2:25 p.m. Thursday at Harrison County Hospital. He was a retired farmer and member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Bradford. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Violet Brockman Kochert, two sons, Donald Kochert, Floyds Knobs, and Marvin Kochert, Bradford; one daughter, Mrs. Mary Ann Schetz of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; four brothers, Leonard Kochert of Arizona, Francis Kochert, Lanesville, Harlan Kochert, Bradford and Clemence Kochert of Edwardsville, six sisters, Sisters Agatha Marie and Seraphica, both of Ohio, Mrs. Ann Smith and Mrs. Mary Jenkins both of Dayton, Ohio, Mrs. Lucille Buechler and Mrs. Evelyn Jacobi both of Bradford and four grandchildren. The rosary was recited at 8 p.m. Friday at the Love Funeral Home in Palmyra. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Bradford. Burial was in the church cemetery.

CORYDON DEMOCRAT OBITUARY – 01/25/1978
Mrs. Bertha J. Kochert, 91, of Lanesville, died Thursday at her home. She was the former Bertha Hess. Survivors are three sons, Paul, James and Maurice Kochert, all of Lanesville; two daughters, Mrs. Pearl Engle of New Albany and Mrs. Ruth Quinkert of Lanesville; 23 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. The funeral was held Saturday, 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Lanesville, with burial in the church cemetery. The body was at Gehlbach-Royse Funeral Home, Corydon.

CORYDON DEMOCRAT OBITUARY – 01/07/1942
Joseph C. Kochert, well known farmer of Franklin Township, passed away last Saturday night at nine o’clock at his home near Lanesville following a heart ailment. The deceased was seventy-seven years, nine months and twenty days of age. He was the son of the late Christian and Victoria Kochert. He was a member of the Catholic Church. Funeral services were held this (Wednesday) morning at eight thirty o’clock at St. Mary’s Catholic Church conducted by the Rev. Clement Hunger. Burial was in the church cemetery. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Rosa Kochert, three sons and three daughters, William A. and Louis A. Kochert of Lanesville, Joseph Kochert of New Salisbury, Miss Dora Kochert of Anchorage, Ky., Mrs. Rosina Timperman of Bradford and Sister Mary Ligournia of Lafayette. He also leaves two brothers, John and Lewis Kochert of Franklin Township. Two sisters and a brother, Misses Victoria and Elizabeth and Christian Kochert have passed away in the past thirteen months.

CORYDON DEMOCRAT OBITUARY – 01/15/1986
Joseph H. Kochert of New Albany died Thursday at Floyd Memorial Hospital. He was 77. He was a native of Harrison County and a retired employee of Smith Transfer Co. Survivors include his wife, the former Leona J. Fessel; three sons: Ronald Kochert of Columbus and Larry and Steve Kochert of New Albany; two daughters: Jane Timberlake of Lanesville and Margaret Kochert of New Albany; a brother, Louis Kochert of Lanesville; three sisters: Victoria McKinney of Anchorage, Ky., Rosina Timperman of Louisville and Florence Rochner of Bradford; and 11 grandchildren. The funeral was held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, with burial in St. Michael Cemetery in Bradford. Kraft Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Peter S. Kochert, 73, died at 1 a.m. last Friday at his home in Bradford, where he had lived for the past two years. A native of Franklin Township, he was a retired farmer. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Anna Kochert; five sons, Bernard Kochert of New Salisbury, Leonard, Harlem, and Clemence Kochert, all of Bradford, and Francis Kochert of Lanesville; six daughters, Sisters Adaline and Serophic Josephine, of Oldenburg, Ind. Mrs. Andrew Jacobi of Palmyra, Mrs. Andrew Buechler of New Salisbury, Mrs. Clifton Jenkins and Miss Ann Kochert, both of Dayton, Oh.; one brother, Frank Kochert of Lanesville; and two sisters, Mrs. Melchor Schellenberger of near Corydon and Sister Maxilena of Oldenburg. The body rested at the residence. Funeral services were held at 9 a.m. Monday at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Bradford. Burial was in the church cemetery.

CORYDON DEMOCRAT OBITUARY – 09/08/1954
Mrs. Rose M. Kochert, 76, widow of Joseph Kochert, passed away at her home northeast of Corydon, last Saturday morning, following an illness. The remains were brought to the Gehlbach-Reach Funeral Home in Corydon and later removed to the Reach Home at Lanesville. Mrs. Kochert was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Schneider. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 8:30 o’clock in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, conducted by the Rev. Clement Hunger. Burial was in the church cemetery. Surviving are three sons and three daughters, Louis J. Kochert of Corydon, William A. Kochert of New Albany, Joseph H. Kochert and Mrs. Marcella Rochner of Bradford, Mrs. Richard (Rosena) Timperman of Louisville and Miss Victoria McKinney of Anchorage, Ky. She also leaves seven grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Katherine Hellman, of Louisville.

Violet Kochert, 74, of Bradford, died Friday at Floyd County Memorial Hospital in New Albany. She was a housewife and a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Survivors include two sons: Donald Kochert of Floyds Knobs and Marvin Kochert of Palmyra; a daughter, Mrs. Harold (Mary Ann) Schetz of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; two brothers: Orville Brockman of New Albany and Joseph Brockman Jr. of Bradford; three sisters: Mrs. Helen Sinkhorn, Mrs. Lorine McDonald and Mrs. Clifford (Mildred) Stewart, all of New Albany; and eight grandchildren. The funeral was held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Michael’s Church, with burial in the church cemetery. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society. Love Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Lucille Koetter, 91, Borden, died Thursday at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville. She was the former Lucille A. Klein and a native of Lenexa, Kan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Koetter Sr. Survivors include four sons, Robert Koetter Sr. of Floyds Knobs and William, Edward Jr. and Tommy Koetter Sr., all of Borden; 23 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. The funeral was Monday at St. John Catholic Church in Starlight with burial in the church cemetery. Kraft Funeral Service in New Albany handled the arrangements.

CORYDON DEMOCRAT OBITUARY – 12/30/1992
Donald K. Kopp, 67, Corydon, died Sunday at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany. He was a native of Harrison County, born March 24, 1925, the son of the late Herman and Bertha Stepro Kopp. He was a retired employee of Silvercrest Children’s Development Center in New Albany, a member of New Albany Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3281, Corydon American Legion Post 123, an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church. Survivors include three sons, Jerry Kopp of New Albany, and Bill and Danny Kopp, both of Corydon; a daughter, Leisa Richards of Corydon; four sisters, Betty Bruner of Summerfield, Fla., Doris Pfeiffer and Ruth and Jean Kopp, all of Corydon; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The funeral was Tuesday at Oak Grove United Methodist Church with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Andy Martin officiated. Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home handled the arrangements. CORYDON DEMOCRAT OBITUARY – 07/25/1973
Timothy Kopp, the 11 month-old infant son of Mrs. Gregory Wilson and Jerry W. Kopp Sr., died Sunday evening at Children’s Hospital in Louisville. He lived at Rt. 1 Palmyra. Also surviving are one brother, Jerry W. Kopp Jr. at home; maternal grandparents, Mrs. Danny (Mary) Reed and Paul Bush, both of New Albany; paternal grandparents, Mrs. Katherine Kopp and Donald Kopp, both of New Albany; great grandmothers, Mrs. Marion Cotner, Mrs. Cora Riggle, both of New Albany and Mrs. Bertha Kopp of Corydon. Funeral services were held this morning (Wednesday) at 11 a.m. at Paul V. Shrader Funeral Home, New Albany. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.

CORYDON DEMOCRAT OBITUARY -
Agnes Receveur Krekel, 98, Louisville, died Saturday, March 17, 2007. A native of Floyds Knobs, she was a longtime bookkeeper for Geo. M. Krekel Jewelers in Louisville and a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Clarksville. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, George M. Krekel Sr.; her parents, Anna Receveur Ott and Edward Receveur; an infant son, Edward M. Krekel; her siblings, Mary, Donald, Gertrude and Dorothy Receveur and Margaret Ott; an infant granddaughter, Mary K. Wibbels; and an infant great-granddaughter, Kathleen Mae Ellison. Survivors include two sons, George M. Krekel Jr. and Donald J. Krekel; two daughters, Joyce A. Koeberlein and Diane M. Wibbels; 15 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren. Visitation: Tuesday, March 20, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, March 21, after 10 a.m. at Kraft Funeral Service in New Albany. Agnes E. Messmer Kruer, 77, Floyds Knobs, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, at Norton Healthcare Pavilion in Louisville. She was a native of Lanesville and a member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church, St. Mary’s Sharing and Caring Group and Mount St. Francis Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband Louis B. Kruer, two brothers, Al and Edward Messmer, a sister, Caroline Kruer, and a grandchild. Survivors include three sons, Thomas J. Kruer of Campbellsburg, Stephen L. Kruer of Georgetown and David G. Kruer of Floyds Knobs; three daughters, Joanne M. Kochert of Palmyra, Dorothy K. Rose of Troy, Mich., and Helen M. Ott of Georgetown; a brother, August Messmer of Palmyra; four sisters, Barbara Beard of Columbus, Cecelia Jones of Leavenworth, Mary Sutherland of Colorado, and Clara Pruitt of Salem; 14 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. CORYDON DEMOCRAT OBITUARY – 05/17/1989
Louis B. Kruer of Floyds Knobs was killed Monday when he fell from a 24-foot ladder onto concrete while preparing to paint his barn, authorities said. Kruer, 66, was pronounced dead at 12:15 p.m. Monday at Floyd Memorial Hospital, by Floyd County Coroner Becky Davis-Balmer. He was a retired letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service and an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, the former Agnes Messmer; three sons, Thomas J. Kruer of Campbellsburg, Stephen L. Kruer of Georgetown and David G. Kruer of New Albany; three daughters, JoAnne Kochert of Palmyra, Dorothy K. Rose of Troy, Mich., and Helen M. Ott of Georgetown; four brothers, Leo G. Kruer of Louisville, Raymond Kruer of Starlight, Edmund and John Kruer, both of New Albany; four sisters, Dorothy Frieders of Maryland, Agnes D. Book of Starlight, Bertha Hoehn of Bradford and Sister Mary Ann Kruer of Beech Grove; and 14 grandchildren. The funeral will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery. Kraft Funeral Home in New Albany is in charge of the arrangements.

Wayne M. Kruer, 25, Greenville, died Jan. 25 at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany after an illness. He was a native of Floyd County and a supervisor at Beach Mold & Tool Co. in New Albany. Survivors include his wife, the former Teri L. Stewart; his parents, Roy and Kathleen Kruer of Greenville; a brother, Brian Kruer of Greenville; a sister, Karen Harbeson of Georgetown; and his grandmother, Clara Beach of New Albany. The funeral was Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church in Bradford, with burial in the church cemetery. Kraft Funeral Home in New Albany was in charge of the arrangements. CORYDON DEMOCRAT OBITUARY – 10/26/1904
William Lagle died suddenly on Monday morning, Oct. 17th, at his home in Bradford and was buried at the Christian church at that place, A. J. Sappenfield officiating. He was one of the oldest citizens of Morgan Township, being 87 years of age. His wife preceded him to the grave about a year ago but seven children remain to mourn their loss. He was a good man and a good neighbor.

CORYDON DEMOCRAT OBITUARY – 12/30/1903
Mrs. Sarah E. Lagle, who was taken to the Insane Asylum on October 19, died at that institution on December 23. Her remains were laid to rest at Bradford on Christmas Day. The deceased was the wife of William Lagle, and the mother of a number of children, who mourn her death.

Bert Leffler passed away last Friday morning at his home in New Albany, aged sixty-four years. The remains were brought to this county Sunday afternoon for burial in the New Middletown Cemetery. Services were held in the New Middletown United Brethren Church. The deceased is survived by three sons, Russell of Corydon; Herschell; of Glendale, Calif., and Edward of New Albany; five daughters, Miss Muriel Leffler and Mrs. Lois Steff, both of New Albany, Mrs. Hazel Thompson of Hamilton, O.; and Mrs. Helen Bott of Palmyra; three brothers, Benjamin of Blackwell, Okla., William of Depauw and Arthur of Palmyra, and three sisters, Mrs. Lilly Stark of Little Rock, Ill., Mrs. Virginia Deustch, of Dogwood, Ind., Mrs. Maggie Lindley of Georgetown, and eleven grandchildren. He was a member of the United Brethren Church at New Middletown. Mr. Leffler was born and reared in this county and spent most of his life here.

CORYDON DEMOCRAT OBITUARY – 01/06/1954
Mrs. Nannie Leffler, 73, widow of Bert Leffler, passed away last Saturday afternoon at 4:15 o’clock at her home in Palmyra, following a lingering illness. Born near Corydon, she was a daughter of the late Jacob and Rachel Grabill Feller. She lived in Corydon for many years before moving to New Albany. About three years ago she moved to Palmyra. Mrs. Leffler was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church at Bradford. The body was at the residence where the rosary was recited Monday evening. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 9:00 o’clock at St. Michael Church, conducted by the Rev. Bernard Thompson. Burial was in the Palmyra Cemetery. Surviving are four daughters and two sons, Mrs. Hazel Thompson of Hamilton, Ohio; Miss Muriel Leffler, Mrs. Clara Kiesler and Mrs. Helen Bott of Palmyra; Russell Leffler, near Corydon, and Herschel Leffler of San Fernando, Calif. She also leaves fifteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Eleanor Litch, 73, of Georgetown, widow of John Litch passed away last Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 o’clock in St. Edward’s Hospital in New Albany where she was admitted a short time before. Mrs. Litch, a daughter of Peter and Louise Grantz Michels was born in Harrison County. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Her remains were at the Gehlbach-Resch Funeral Home where the Rosary was recited last Friday evening at 7:00 o’clock. Requiem mass was conducted last Saturday morning at 8:30 o’clock at St. Mary’s Catholic Church by the Rev. Clement Hunger. Interment was in the church cemetery. The pallbearers were Mervin and Joseph Wismann Jr., Forrest Richmer, Leonard, Maurice and Jerome Stilger. Surviving are five sons and two daughters, Wilbert Ott at Madison, Marvin and Charles Litch of Corydon, John Litch of Georgetown, Robert Litch and Mrs. Henrietta Stilger of New Albany and Mrs. Alva (Norma) Fife of Floyds Knobs. She also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Herman Richmer of Lanesville and Mrs. Lee Stilger of Georgetown.

John Litch, farmer of Franklin Township, passed away last Wednesday afternoon at two o’clock at his home near Crandall following a six months illness of liver trouble. Mr. Litch was seventy-five years and twenty-five days of age. He was the son of the late Michael and Frances Litch. The deceased was a member of the Catholic Church. Funeral services were held last Friday morning at eight thirty o-clock at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Lanesville conducted by the Rev. Clement Hunger. Interment was in the church cemetery. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Eleanor Litch, seven sons and three daughters, Herman Litch of New Albany, Mrs. Gertrude Rochner of Arkansas, Mrs. Elizabeth Hinckle of Louisville, Miss Norma Litch, William, Marvin, John, Charles, Robert and Franklin Litch near Lanesville. He also leaves two stepsons and a stepdaughter, Edward and Wilbur Ott and Mrs. Henrietta Stilger of New Albany.

CORYDON REPUBLICAN OBITUARY – 06/04/1908
Mary Litch, the beloved and estimable wife of Mr. John Litch, of Franklin Township died May 26, after several weeks severe sickness in the fortieth year of her age. As she was a devout Christian lady she died well prepared to meet her God. She was a most excellent woman, a devoted wife and a kind and loving mother of four living children. They deserve the sympathy of the entire community. Her remains were brought here and laid to rest in the Catholic Cemetery, Thursday afternoon, May 28, in the presence of a concourse of sorrowing friends. Father A. Peckskamp conducted the usual funeral services.

Mary, the estimable wife of John Litch, who resides in this township, died May 26, aged 39 years. A husband, two daughters, and two sons mourn the loss of a devoted wife and a loving mother. The funeral took place on Thursday afternoon at Lanesville and her remains were laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery. Father Peckskamp conducted the services. The deceased was a faithful member of the Catholic Church. The family have the sympathy of their many friends.

Robert W. Litch, 65, New Albany, died Sunday at Norton Hospital in Louisville. He was a native of Harrison County, a retired employee of the Ford Motor Co. in Louisville, an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Albany. Survivors include his wife, the former Mary L. Schueler; a son, Richard L. Litch of New Albany; a daughter, Rita A. Stocksdale of New Albany; a brother, Charles Litch of Corydon; two sisters; Norma Helm of Clarkson Ky. and Henrietta Heuer of New Albany; and three grandchildren. The funeral was this morning at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, with burial in Holy Trinity Cemetery in New Albany. Kraft Funeral Home in New Albany was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Apolonia Loew, widow of Peter Loew, died about midnight Saturday night at her home at Lanesville, following a lingering illness. Mrs. Loew was sixty-six years and four months of age. Her maiden name was Bach. She was a member of the Catholic church. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at eight thirty o’clock at St. Mary’s Catholic Church conducted by the Rev. Clement Hunger. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mrs. Loew is survived by a son John Loew and a daughter Miss Anna Loew. She also leaves a sister, Mrs. Rosa Shickels of this county.

Evie E. Loew, 24, Lanesville, died Thursday, July 14, 2005, at the Medical Center of Southern Indiana in Charlestown. A native of New Albany, born Nov. 4, 1980, she was the daughter of Larry J. and Sharon K. Cannon Loew of Lanesville. She was employed at New Hope Services in Charlestown, and was a member of the Challenger's softball team and St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lanesville. Survivors besides her parents include a brother, Jude J. Lowe of Madison, and two sisters, Paig Trinkle of Palmyra and Ashley Lowe of Lanesville. Funeral Mass: Saturday, July 16, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery. Officiant: Father Harold Ripperger. Pallbearers: Jude Lowe, Paul Robert Kiger, Barry Wooley, John Cannon, Robert Trinkle and Robert McDonnell.

CORYDON DEMOCRAT OBITUARY – 02/18/1981
Mrs. Irma Ott Loew, 73, of Lanesville, died on Monday at Floyd County Memorial Hospital in New Albany. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and St. Anne’s Society. Survivors are her husband, John Loew; a son, Lawrence Loew of Lanesville; five daughters, Mrs. Anna M. Brown of Georgetown, Mrs. Mary Koetter of Borden, Ind., Mrs. Helen Gettelfinger of New Salisbury, Mrs. Laverne Smith and Mrs. Hilda Robinson, both of Lanesville; two brothers, Carl and Vincent Ott, both of Georgetown; a sister, Mrs. Marie Elmer of New Albany; 21 grandchildren and a great-grandchild. The funeral will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s with burial in the church cemetery. Prayer service will be held tonight (Wednesday) at 8 at Kraft Funeral Home, New Albany.

CORYDON DEMOCRAT OBITUARY – 03/26/1986
John J. Loew of Lanesville died Friday at his daughter’s home in Georgetown. He was 85. He was a native of Lanesville, a retired farmer and school bus driver, and a member of St. Mary Lanesville Catholic Church. Survivors include a son, Lawrence J. Loew; five daughters: Anna Marie Brown of Georgetown, Mary Koetter of Starlight, Helen Gettelfinger of New Salisbury, Laverne Smith and Hilda Robinson; 22 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The funeral was held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Lanesville, with burial in the church cemetery. Kraft Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

CORYDON DEMOCRAT OBITUARY – 02/29/1928
Joseph Loew, a well-known farmer residing on the Floyd County line near Lanesville, was found in his barn last Saturday morning in a semi-conscious condition, and fatally injured. He had gone to the barn to do some work. When his son John went to the barn about ten o’clock, he found his father lying there, with the hayrack on his body, which was crushed. It is thought that he probably was climbing into the loft when the rack gave way. He lived only a few minutes after he was found. He was about sixty-eight years of age. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Lanesville. He was a good man and his friends will be grieved to learn of his untimely death. Funeral services were held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Lanesville, Monday morning, conducted by Rev. Adam Baron. Burial was in the cemetery nearby. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Addie Loew, one son John, and a daughter Anna. He also leaves two brothers, William Loew, of Mt. Vernon, Peter Loew, and two sisters, Mrs. Anna Zorn, and Mrs. John Bachman, all of Franklin Township. This is the fourth death in their family in five years. Three sons, Otto, Peter and Henry preceding the father in death.

CORYDON DEMOCRAT OBITUARY – 12/02/1953
Benjamin K. Lopp, 66, farmer, residing southeast of Elizabeth, died unexpectedly at his home Tuesday afternoon at 4:15 o’clock. Death was caused from a heart attack. Born in Heth Township, he was the son of the late Samuel and Mary Watson Lopp. The body is at the Beanblossom Funeral Home in Corydon, where it will remain until Friday afternoon at 1:00 o’clock, then be moved to the Presbyterian Church at Elizabeth. Funeral services will be held in the church at two o’clock, conducted by the Rev. J. Smith, pastor. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery at Elizabeth. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Edith Woertz Lopp, five sons and two daughters, Clyde, Murl and Von Lopp and Mrs. Kathleen Leffler of Elizabeth; Clarence and James Lopp of New Albany; and Mrs. Helen Bargert of Jeffersonville. He also leaves eleven grandchildren, two brothers and three sisters, Mason Lopp of Laconia, Homer Lopp and Mrs. Hazel Miller, of Mauckport; Mrs. Maude Watson, of Central; and Mrs. Neil Kirk of New Albany.

CORYDON DEMOCRAT OBITUARY – 10/31/1973
Mrs. Edith P. Lopp of Elizabeth passed away at 10:15 p.m. Sunday at her home. She was 89 years of age and the widow of Ben Lopp. A native of Harrison County, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Cooper Woertz. Mrs. Lopp was a member of the Church of the Covenant Presbyterian Church, Elizabeth, and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She is survived by five sons, Clyde, Murl, and Von Lopp, all of Elizabeth, Clarence and James Lopp, both of New Albany, two daughters, Mrs. Helen Borgert, Clarksville and Mrs. Kathleen Leffler, Elizabeth, 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral services are being held today (Wednesday) at 1:30 p.m. in Gehlbach-Royse Funeral Home. Rev. David Marshall will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth. Grady Mansfield, 65, of Depauw, died Sunday at his home. He was a native of Screven, Ga., a retired employee of Corydon Crushed Stone Co., and a Baptist. Survivors include his wife, the former Velva Walker; three sons: Robert C. Mansfield of New Albany, Edgar Mansfield of Corydon and Samuel Mansfield of Seymour; five daughters: Sarah Ott of Georgetown, Linda Mansfield of Louisville, Jane Lewis of Ramsey, Katherine Satterfield and Elsie Holland of Depauw; two brothers: Ulysses Mansfield of Screven and McKinley Mansfield of Salt Lake City; two sisters: Ruth Mikell and Emey Baumert, both of Salt Lake City; 28 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. The funeral was held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Swarens Funeral Home in Ramsey, with burial in St. Peters Lutheran Church Cemetery near Lanesville. Arthur J. (A.J.) Marking, 86, Lanesville, died June 9 at his home. He was a native of Louisville, a retired pipe fitter and a member of Pipe Fitters Union Local 522, and had formerly been active in the Floyd County 4-H program. Survivors include his wife, the former Antoinette A. Schoenbaechler; four sons, Anthony E. Marking of Floyds Knobs, Arthur L. and Joseph H. Marking, both of New Albany, and Charles A. Loretta Schueler Marking, 59, Lanesville, died Monday at her home. She was an employee of Highland Auto Service. Survivors include her husband, Charles A. Marking; two sons, Charles E. Mabel Mosier Martin, 90, New Albany, formerly of Palmyra, died Friday at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Service in New Albany. She was a member of the Pentecostal Church in New Albany. Survivors include two sons, Everette Mosier of Clarksville and Wesley Mosier of Scottsville, Ky.; five brothers, Robert and Loren Zimmerman, both of New Albany, and Russell, Lloyd and Arthur Zimmerman, all of Palmyra; 16 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and 25 great-great-grandchildren. The funeral was Monday at Love Funeral Home with burial in Central Barren Cemetery.

Robert Perry Martin, retired hatchery man, died at 8:54 a.m. Wednesday, August 11 at Baptist Hospital East in Louisville. He was 74 years of age and resided on Route 1, Ramsey. Born in Harrison County, he was a son of the late Arvil I. and Cora Hendricks Martin. Mr. Martin was a founding director and secretary-treasurer of the Ramsey Water Company, Inc. He was a member of the Indiana Rural Water Association, a life member and past president of the Indiana State Poultry Association and a member of Saint Mary’s Catholic Church at Eighth and Spring Streets, New Albany. Surviving are his wife, the former Alma Keller Bush; a son, Paul Martin of New Salisbury, two stepsons, Michael and Steve Bush, both of Ramsey; a daughter, Mrs. Clifford (JoAnn) Schmidt of New Salisbury; three step-daughters, Miss Sarah Bush and Miss Debbie Bush, both of Ramsey and Mrs. Don (Mary) Shrader of Louisville; a brother, Hugh Martin of New Salisbury; two sisters, Mrs. Allean Sappenfield of Ramsey and Miss Lena Helen Martin of New Castle, Ind.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in New Albany with the Rev. Bernard Gerdon and the Rev. Steven Schaftlein officiating. Joseph C. Mehling Sr., 47, of New Albany, died Saturday at 10:20 a.m. at Floyd County Memorial Hospital there. He was a machinist at Naval Ordinance in Louisville; a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Albany and Floyd County Conservation Club. He served in the U. S. Army from 1955 to 1957. Survivors are his wife, the former Joyce Rochner; two sons, Joseph, C. Mehling Jr. and Jerome Mehling, both at home; his mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. John L. Brown, Corydon; his father, Willis Mehling, Columbus, Ohio; three sisters, Mrs. Louise Carpenter, Batavia, Ohio, Mrs. Loretta Combs, Salem, Ill., and Mrs. Ann Hornback, New Albany. She was the former Lena Ann Adwell and was born on Sept. 7, 1916 in Edmondson County, Ky. to the late William T. and Rusha Strange Adwell. She was a Baptist. Philip C. Miller, 77, retired farmer of Jackson Township, died Monday night at 9:30 o’clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Jesse Byrns, near Corydon Junction. The deceased, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John C. Miller, was a life long resident of the community in which he died. He was a member of the German Reformed Church. The remains are at the Gehlbach-Resch Funeral Home, where the funeral service is planned for Thursday morning at 10:00 o’clock. The Rev. D. R. Kinser, pastor of the Church of God at New Salisbury, will officiate. The Rev. J. D. Kavich will sing, accompanied by Mrs. Ed Wolfe, organist. Burial will be in the German Reformed Cemetery, near Crandall. Besides his wife, he leaves five daughters, Mrs. Jesse Byrns of New Salisbury, Mrs. Earl Allen of Georgetown, Mrs. Roy Shewmaker of New Middletown, Mrs. Leo Rochner of Edwardsville and Mrs. Lonnie Hill of Lanesville. He also leaves twenty-one grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

CORYDON DEMOCRAT OBITUARY – 05/03/1922
Mrs. Philip C. Miller passed away Sunday morning April 23, at her home near Lanesville. She died of pneumonia after a very brief illness no one realizing that her condition was serious. The funeral was at the Reformed Church near Crandall and the burial was in the church cemetery. The following obituary was sent for publication. Mrs. Rosa Miller, daughter of Mr. William and Mrs. Margaret Rudel, was born near Lanesville October 16, 1873, and died April 23rd 1922, aged forty-eight years, six months and seven days. On May the 8th 1904 she was united in marriage to Philip C. Miller. To this union were born seven daughters, the oldest of which was called away in infancy. She thus leaves surviving her a husband and six daughters as follows: Alma L., Loretta, Rosetta, Thelma R., Elnora E., and Carrie Gertrude. She also leaves surviving her an aged mother, two sisters and one brother and a host of relatives and friends. On the 8th day of May 1887 she was received into full membership of the Reformed Church, near Crandall by confirmation, and remained a true and faithful member unto the end of life. She was a faithful wife, a loving mother and a true friend.

Glen Nelson, 87, Georgetown, formerly of Lanesville, died early Wednesday, March 17, at his home. A native of Floyd County, he was the son of the late Walter and Kate Stopher Nelson. He was a retired farmer. Mrs. William J. Newman, 4033 Blanton Lane, Louisville, died at 5:15 a.m. Saturday at SS. Mary and Elizabeth Hospital. She was the wife of William J. Newman, a former resident of the New Middletown area. Mrs. Newman, a native of Wynette, Ill., taught in the Jefferson County School system for 40 years before retiring. She was a member of Valley Chapter of Order of Eastern Star. Besides her husband, she is survived by three sisters, Miss Leona Andrews, Mrs. Mildred Schultz and Mrs. Barbara Quinton and a brother, B. Mrs. Fannie Mary Ott, resident of Georgetown, R. 3, died at 2 a.m. Tuesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Marie Elmer, 1743 Lynnwood Dr., New Albany. Mary Frances Knable Ott, 96, New Albany, died Friday at Rolling Hills Health Care Center. She was a native of Georgetown and a retired employee of the old Rassmussen Florist. Philip J. Ott, forty-four years old, Assessor of Floyd County, died at St. Edwards Hospital at 11 o’clock Sunday morning. He had been in ill health for a year suffering from rheumatism with complications, and for three weeks had been confined to his bed at his home at 207 State Street. A few days ago he was taken to the hospital for treatment. Mr. Ott lived in Georgetown Township at the time he was elected County Assessor two years ago. Besides his widow, Mrs. Anna Ott, he is survived by three sons, Norman, Bernard and Cletus Ott; a daughter, Miss Margaret Ott; two brothers, Joseph Ott, of New Albany, and Frank Ott, of Underwood, and three sisters, Mrs. Frank Green, Mrs. Clarence Biscopink, and Mrs. William Noon, all of New Albany. Mr. Ott was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Funeral arrangements have not been completed.

Susan Marie Ott, three-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roger Ott, near Georgetown died last Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock following surgery at St. Joseph’s Infirmary in Louisville. The child had been ill since birth. A faulty heart artery prevented the child from getting sufficient oxygen supply. About 10 pints of blood was needed for the operations. Persons from all parts of the state volunteered donations. Besides the parents, she leaves a brother Michael and sister Mary Jean. She also leaves her grandmothers Mrs. Herman Ott of New Albany and Mrs. Juanita Forbes of Louisville.

Vincent A. Ott, 87, Georgetown, died at his home Sunday evening, July 16, 2006. A native of Georgetown, born July 14, 1919, he was the son of the late William J. and Fannie Mary Eve Ott. He was a retired dairy farmer and member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lanesville and Knights of Columbus Pope John Paul II Council 1808, and was past president and director of the Floyd County Farm Bureau. He was a supervisor for the Floyd County Soil & Water Conservation, and a director of the Harrison County REMC Hoosier Energy/Harrison/Floyd Farm Bureau Cooperative and Floyd County Extension Service. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Ott; two sisters, Irma Loew and Viola Kiesler; and a great-grandson. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, the former Mary Jane Bezy; a daughter, Clara C. Hopper of Georgetown; two brothers, Carl F. Ott of Lanesville and Cletus W. Ott of Georgetown; a sister, Marie Elmer of New Albany; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Leo Edwin Ottersbach, 73, Mauckport, died last Wednesday at his home. He was a native of Louisville, born July 3, 1920 to the late William J. and Roseline McLaughlin Ottersbach. He was a retired welder for Airco Carbide in Louisville, an Army veteran of World War II, a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lanesville and Veterans of Foreign Wars Iroquois Hill Post 6182 in Louisville. Ottersbach was well known for his chair caning. He sold his work each year at the Lanesville Heritage Weekend festival, Old Settlers Day in Corydon, and the Labor Day Arts and Crafts Festival in Corydon. Survivors include his wife, the former Marjorie (Pat) Elliott; a son, Barrie Ottersbach of Georgetown; two daughters, Susette Lang and Betsy Finger, both of New Albany; a stepson, Thomas K. Ryan of Louisville; a brother, William J. Ottersbach of Louisville; a sister, Mary Rose Wolfe of Louisville; nine grandchildren and a great-grandchild. The funeral was Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Corydon with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Father Pius Pfeiffer officiated. Mrs. Christina Reising, wife of Fred Reising, died at her home, three miles northeast of Corydon, Tuesday night, August 3, at 9:15 o’clock after several months’ illness of stomach trouble. Deceased was born June 25, 1842, and spent almost her entire life on the farm where she died. She was an honest, industrious Christian lady and was loved by all who knew her. She possessed a kind, loving character and was always ready and willing to assist those in need, and will be greatly missed by her many friends and relatives. She leaves to mourn their loss a husband and seven children, two sons and five daughters, viz: Mrs. Mary Rochner, Mrs. Anna Loew, Misses Addie and Clara Reising, Albert and Louis Reising, all of this county, and Mrs. Louise Wilson, of Louisville, Ky., also two sisters, Mrs. Adaline Ehalt and Mrs. Anna Day, nineteen grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren, besides a host of friends. The funeral took place in St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Lanesville last Thursday morning at nine o’clock conducted by Rev. Father A. Peckskamp and the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery nearby. Mrs. R. was at the time of her death aged seventy-three years, one month and nine days.

Mrs. Alice Fern Rochner, wife of Leo Rochner, passed away Tuesday morning at five o’clock at her home near Breckinridge, following a lingering illness. Mrs. Rochner submitted to a surgical operation several weeks ago and her condition gradually grew worse. Mrs. Rochner was thirty-two years, ten months and eight days of age. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Brown and was born and reared in the vicinity in which she died. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at eight o’clock, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, conducted by the Rev. Clement Hunger. Burial was in the church cemetery. Besides her husband she leaves her parents, and four children, Robert, Mary, Alice and Helen Rochner. August Rochner, well-known resident of Franklin Township, died Tuesday morning at 12:30 o’clock at his home seven miles east of Corydon. Death was caused from a lingering illness of a complication of diseases. The deceased was eighty-five years and five days of age. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a retired farmer. The remains rested at the home of his son John Rochner at Lanesville. Funeral services were held this (Wednesday) morning at 8:30 o’clock at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Lanesville conducted by the Rev. Clement Hunger. Interment was in the church cemetery nearby. Surviving are three sons and four daughters John Rochner, Lanesville, August Rochner of Dewitt, Ark., Leo Rochner, Mrs. Olivia Rouck and Mrs. Elnora Goodman of Edwardsville, Mrs. Edith Schnell and Mrs. Anna Kleier of Louisville. He also leaves thirty grandchildren.

Mrs. Flora T. Rochner, resident of Lanesville, died at 9:00 a.m. Friday at her home. She was 82 years of age. A native of Harrison County, Mrs. Rochner was the daughter of the late Peter and Mary Hirt Day. Mrs. Rochner was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Lanesville. CORYDON REPUBLICAN OBITUARY – 04/05/1906 - LANESVILLE
August Rochner, Sr., an old pioneer and respected citizen of Franklin Township, died Wednesday, March 28, at the advanced age of 87 years, 7 months and one day. The funeral took place March 29 from the residence of his son, Aug. Rochner, Jr., with whom he lived, to the Catholic Church, of which he had been a true and faithful member. Father A. Peckskamp officiated. After services in church the remains were taken to the nearby cemetery, and laid to their last resting place. The deceased was born in the State of Prussia, Germany, and emigrated with his wife to this country in 1848 and located in Harrison county, two miles west of Lanesville, in 1849, and lived at the same place ever since. His wife and one married daughter died several years ago. Eight children, 41 grand and 17 great-grandchildren are still living. Prof. Wm. Rochner, principal of the Lanesville public school, is one of the many grandchildren.

August Rochner, Sr., a well-known and respected citizen of Franklin Township, died after a brief illness of pneumonia, on Wednesday morning, March 28, 1906, at the home of his son, August Rochner, Jr., near Breckenridge. The funeral took place Thursday at the Lanesville Catholic Cemetery, Father A. Peckskamp officiating. The deceased reached the advanced age of 87 years, 7 months and 1 day. He was a devout Christian and the father of nine children. His wife and daughter, Mrs. Frank Ott, died several years ago. The following children are still living: Joseph Rochner, of Louisville; Mrs. Philip Ott, of New Albany; Mrs. Joseph Schnell, of Louisville; Mrs. Henry Gering, of Hikes Point near Louisville, George Rochner, of Brownstown, Ind.; August Rochner, of this county, and John Rochner, of Arkansas. He also leaves 41 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Prof. Wm. Rochner, principal of the Lanesville public schools, is one of the grandchildren. Mr. Rochner was born in the Prussian Province Silicia (Schlesien) Germany, August 27, 1818, and married there in 1847, and in 1848 emigrated to this country and resided in Louisville for a short time, then came to this county and settled two miles west of Lanesville, where he lived for 58 years. He had been a well and stout built man and had never been ailing only up to his last few years incident by his old age. His wife had never been strong and died nearly nine years ago. Since that time he has continued to make his home with his son, August, as they had done for some years before her death.

Mrs. Eva Roudenbush Succumbs at Life Time Home Near New Salisbury - Burial at Central Barren
Mrs. Eva Roudenbush, widow of George Roudenbush, passed away Friday, March 9, at her home near Central Barren, after a three days’ illness. She had been in declining health the past five years. The deceased was born and spent her entire life in the home where she died. Her son Henry and his wife resided with her. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at two o’clock at the Central Barren M. E. Church conducted by Rev. H. J. Propheter, pastor of the Central Barren Church assisted by Rev. L. A. Schreiber, of New Albany, and Rev. Horace Sonner, of Georgetown. The remains were laid to rest in the church cemetery. The pallbearers were William Kost, George Ems, Abraham Woertz, Frank Roudenbush, Nicholas Kost and Frank Stoll of Louisville.

CORYDON DEMOCRAT OBITUARY – 03/14/1928
Eva Graininger, the daughter of Matthew and Christine Graninger was born August 12, 1846, near Central Barren. Aunt Eva lived in this community until her Heavenly Father called her home on March 9, 1928. She was eighty-one years, seven months and twenty six days old. She was married to George Roudenbush February 28, 1868, and to this union nine children were born, two of whom have preceded the mother in death. Her husband died several years ago. The children living are: Henry, of Delavan, Ill.; Christian Wallace, Mary E. Heuser, William R. Louise Huff, all of New Salisbury, and George F., of Georgetown, Carry Zimmerman, of Palmyra. She leaves to mourn her departure her children, twenty-one grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and a host of friends and loved ones. Aunt Eva was loved by all of the whole community. She was converted when fourteen years old and became a faithful member of the M. E. church, and lived a Christian life throughout life.

CORYDON DEMOCRAT OBITUARY – 02/17/1965
Mrs. Bell Roudenbush, of Georgetown, passed away Saturday night at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany. She was 79 years of age. Mrs. Roudenbush was a member of Georgetown Methodist Church. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Love Funeral Home in Palmyra. Burial was in Wolfe Cemetery at Georgetown. Survivors include her husband, George Roudenbush; two sons, Ralph and Charles Roudenbush, both of New Albany, a brother, August Rochner, of Georgetown; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.CORYDON DEMOCRAT OBITUARY – 12/29/1993
Mildred Roudenbush, 82, New Albany, died unexpectedly Thursday in Omaha, Neb., where she was visiting relatives for the holidays. She was a native of Harrison County, born Nov. 26, 1911, the daughter of the late Emmett and Minerva Faith Frakes. She was a retired seamstress for M. Fine & Sons Manufacturing Co. Inc., and a member of State Street Baptist Church. Survivors include a stepson, Charles F. Roudenbush Jr. of New Albany; and a brother, Fred Frakes of Fort Myers, Fla. The funeral was yesterday at Seabrook Funeral Home with burial in Wolfe Cemetery in Georgetown. The family suggests memorial gifts to the American Cancer Society.

CORYDON DEMOCRAT OBITUARY – 04/21/1999
Earl Rudolph, 64, Palmyra, died at 2:50 p.m. Tuesday, April 13, at Washington County Memorial Hospital in Salem. A native of Palmyra, born Nov. 28, 1934, he was the son of the late George H. and Blanche Libka Rudolph. He was a retired vice president of Peoples Trust Bank in Salem and a member of Borden Christian Church. Survivors include his wife, the former Betty Simpson; a son, Chris Rudolph of Palmyra; three daughters, Earlene Brown, Debbie Love and Lori Kiesler, all of Palmyra; four brothers, Norris Rudolph of Palmyra, Arvil Rudolph of Georgetown, and Alan and Melvin Rudolph, both of Corydon; six sisters, Verna Emerson of Byrneville, Virginia Duvall of Ramsey, Georgia Eveslage of Palmyra, Darlene Lang of Pekin, Frances Stinnett of Georgetown and Carol Sue Smith of Borden; and seven grandchildren. The funeral was Friday at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra with burial in Palmyra Cemetery.

CORYDON DEMOCRAT OBITUARY – 04/30/1924
Mrs. Carrie Rusk, age fifty-three, wife of Charles Rusk, residing four miles southwest of Corydon, died at nine o’clock Tuesday morning after a nine days’ illness of pneumonia. She is survived by her husband, Charles Rusk, four sons, George, Perry, Charles and Raymond of New Albany, and two daughters, Mrs. Alice Rochner, of Georgetown, and Hazel who lives at home. The body will be taken this (Wednesday) morning to New Albany, where the funeral services and burial will take place.

CORYDON DEMOCRAT OBITUARY – 12/30/1942
Charles A. Rusk, retired farmer near Floyd Knobs, passed away last Wednesday at the home of his daughter Mrs. Alice Rochner, near Georgetown. Funeral services were held last Friday afternoon at two o’clock at the Methodist Church at Georgetown. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery at New Albany. Surviving are two daughters and four sons, Mrs. Rochner, Mrs. Hazel Byrn of Georgetown, George and Perry Rusk of New Albany, Raymond Rusk of Louisville, and Charles Rusk of Indianapolis. He also leaves thirteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. The deceased was eighty-four years of age.
