The Woman’s Auxiliary Association of this city raised a large amount of money today to add to the fund to be used to help the families of the soldiers of Company H, in Colonel’s Gunder’s regiment. They gave an ice-cream festival in the courthouse yard, the ice cream being donated, so the entire receipts were clear. All the merchants set aside for the fund 1 per cent of their day’s sales. Pictures of the boys at Chickamauga and their camp were sold at large prices and little girls contributed to the fund by selling button-hole bouquets. The city was profusely decorated with flags, and large crowds came in from the surrounding country.
