INDIANA HAS A SUICIDE CLUB
December 30, 1893
Lake County, Indiana
The coroner has completed his investigation into the death of WILLIAM OZIER, who committed suicide at Whiting, Ind. recently, and it has been brought to light that a suicide club is in existence in Lake County. It stated intervals a drawing occurred, and the member who drew the fatal ballot was to be the next victim. The secrecy of the club made the investigation difficult, but 12 persons who have lately taken their lives in Lake County are all supposed to have been members. It is a strange circumstance that each of the 12 adopted different means of suicide. [Submitted by Barb Ziegenmeyer]
