GASKINS

Allan Gaskins one of the oldest residents citizens of Monroe county is dead, aged 80 years.  The end came Sunday and reunited from old age and a complication of troubles.  His home was in Washington township where he has resided for almost half a century.  He was a pioneer settler and an honest conscientious Christian. He leaves a widow and family of children.  He was a member of the Methodist church and was loved and respected by all. – Bloomington Evening World, 12 May 1908
