 HlGH SCHOOL, 1935. The building to
the right of the old high school, built in 1875, is the new high
school.
The school and gym were built in 1924 and razed in 1960. Rising Sun High School, 1923. The gathering of local citizens on the Rising Sun High School playground was for an unknown purpose. The high school itself (unseen in the picture) was built in 1875. In 1924. the building was razed to be replaced by a new larger high school and gym on the same site. The picture shows the basketball goals. The basketball team played Outdoors because the previous school bad no gym. The current Life Squad building is situated on the former high school land. |

 New High School, 1923. In the background is (he old high school, soon to be replaced with a new building. The new school superintendent J.C.. Turner oversaw the construction and restructuring of the high school. The new high school sat on land that held the outdoor basketball court. Only four classrooms, a study hall, a shop, and home economics rooms were in the new school, therefore forcing the high school to continue using the third floor of the old school tor classes. |
