I hope, eventually, to have an alphabetical listing of the marriages, but time being in short supply in building a new website, I will have to post them by the year the marriage license was issued, or the actual marriage took place. Please notify me of any errors I may have made in transcribing this data. The dates are not in any particular order (other than by year) due to the laxity of the various Justices in sending the completed license to the court. I have moved the tardy entries to the correct page, but have not otherwise altered the order the data was recorded in. So please browse the page if you are looking for a particular marriage.

Orange County was formed in 1816, mostly by Quakers fleeing the institution of slavery in North Carolina and other southern states. During my visits to Paoli and the immediate area, I have met many of the descendants of those hardy pioneers. They brought civilization to a wilderness, then sent their offspring out to populate America.
