Owen County, Ind. Farmer. Entered service September 2, 1918, Spencer,
Ind. Sent to Camp Grant, Ill.; assigned to Company C, 5th Limited
Service Regiment. Died of pneumonia October 5, 1918, Camp Grant, Ill.
Buried in Carolina Cemetery, Atkinsonville, Owen County, Ind.

born March 12, 1898, Spencer, Ind.
Farmer. Entered service September 19, 1918, Cooperstown, N. D. Sent to
Camp Dodge, la.; assigned to 9th Company, 3rd Training Battalion, 163rd
Depot Brigade. Died of pneumonia April 21, 1919, Camp Dodge, Ia. Buried
at Spencer, Ind.
CALL, EDWARD - - - Private
Son of William and Martha Call; born
November 9, 1894, Monroe County,
Tenn. Moved to Owen County, Ind. in 1900. Machinist. Enlisted in
Company D, Indiana National Guard, June 20, 1916, Spencer, Ind. Served
on Mexican Border. Transferred to Machine Gun Company, 2nd Infantry.
Sent to Ft. Ritner, Ind., to guard a tunnel on the Baltimore and Ohio
Railroad. Accidentally killed by the discharge of a revolver, April 14,
1917. Buried at Spencer, Ind. American Legion Post, Spencer, Ind.,
named in his honor.
COLEMAN, GUY E. - - - Private
Son of George and Emma Coleman; born
October 28, 1895, Monroe City,
Knox County, Ind. Enlisted in Company D, 2nd Infantry, Indiana National
Guard July 25, 1917, Spencer, Ind. Expected to report for duty August
6, 1917. Accidentally drowned August 5, 1917, while swimming with
friends in White River, Spencer, Ind. Buried, Spencer, Ind.
CROUCH, CLAUDE W. - - -Cook
Son of Charles J. and Elizabeth
Crouch; born June 8, 1895, Gosport,
Owen County, Ind. Central Union Telephone Company employ. Enlisted July
14, 1917, Indianapolis, Ind. Sent to Ft. Benjamin Harrison, Ind.;
transferred to Camp Gordon, Ga. Overseas in May, 1918; assigned to
Company B, 307th Field Signal Battalion, as Cook. Killed in action
October 6. 1918, near Chatel Chehery. Buried in Argonne-American
Cemetery, Grave 150, Section 102, Plot 3, Romagne, France.

Cemetery, Morgan County, Ind.

Son of William A. and Catherine Cline
Highet; born December 9, 1895,
near Spencer, Ind. Draughtsman. Enlisted in U.S. Navy June 27, 1917,
Indianapolis, Ind. Trained at Naval Training Station, Rhode Island;
assigned to destroyer Jacob Jones. Killed by explosion December 6,
1917, when the Jacob Jones was torpedoed and sunk by a German
submarine.

Owen County, Ind. Farmer. Entered service August 29, 1918, Spencer,
Ind. Sent to Camp Custer, Mich.; assigned to 45th Company, 12th
Training Battalion, 160th Depot Brigade; transferred to Company C, 41st
Machine Gun Battalion. Died of pneumonia October 13, 1918, Camp Custer,
Mich. Place of burial, Poland, Ind.

County, Ind. Laborer. Entered service June 27, 1918, Spencer, Ind. Sent

Division. Sailed overseas September 9, 1918. Died of pneumonia October
13, 1918, St. Germain, France. Place of burial, Patricksburg, Owen
County, Ind.
