Replacement Draft, Coast Artillery Corps, Unit No. 1. Embarked
September 25, 1918. Drowned when the Otranto was torpedoed by a German
submarine two miles off the Scottish Coast. Buried in Kilchoman
Cemetery, Kilchoman, Islay, Argyll, Scotland.

Tex. Embarked September 5, 1918. Died of pneumonia October 7, 1918,
shortly after reaching Brest, France. Body returned, and buried in
Arlington National Cemetery, Washington, D. C.

influenza September 20, 1918, Great Lakes Naval Training Station, Ill.

to Supply Company, 36th Infantry. Later sent to Camp Devens, Mass.,
where he died of pulmonary pneumonia October 7, 1918. Buried in Earlham
Cemetery, Richmond, Ind.

Recruiting Detachment, 3rd Brigade; transferred to Troop F, 1st
Cavalry. Contracted pneumonia and died November 25, 1918, Ft. Douglas.
Buried in Spring Lawn Cemetery, New Paris, Ohio.

Replacement Draft. Embarked from New York June 11, 1918. Assigned to
Company H, 18th Infantry, 1st Division. Gassed at Soissons, and died
July 31, 1918. Buried in American Cemetery near Paris. Survived by
widow, Iva Tout, and son, Olin Wayne Tout, Centerville, Ind.

the U.S. Navy February 19, 1917, St. Louis, Mo. (Service record
incomplete.) Lost his life September 30, 1918, when the U.S. transport
Ticonderoga was torpedoed by enemy submarine in mid ocean. Body never
recovered.
