St. Joe friends of
Frank Erdman, St. Benedict, were saddened to learn of his death Friday at Mercy hospital, Fort Dodge, following two appendicitis operations. Mrs. Erdman plans to carry on at their farm east of here, with her brother Victor Neuroth helping. Her niece, Elizabeth Erdman, plans to remain with her indefinitely and her mother-in-law is spending several days there. [Kossuth County News 1934, submitted by a Friend of Genealogy]

The three
Foertsch sisters, Sister M. Leon, Sister M. Carmil, and Sister M. Dorothea returned to the St. Francis Convent in Milwaukee, having been called home due to the critical illness of their father, William Foertsch, whose condition is reported improved. Mr. and Mrs.
Jim Gibson and family of Lone Rock spent Sunday here at the home of his parents, the Zack Gibsons. Mrs. Gibson remained over until Monday to attend the funeral of her uncle, Charles Loebig. Attend Wedding of Miss Lucille Kunz
Gordon Kunz accompanied by June Marie Corey and their grandmother, Mrs. Anna Kunz, drove up from Des Moines Saturday night to be present Monday morning for the wedding of Miss. Lucille Kunz to R. E. Wehler. Grandma Kunz for the past two weeks had been a guest in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Art Corey. [Kossuth County News 1934, submitted by a Friend of Genealogy]

Mrs. Leo Reno spent from last Thursday to Saturday at the home of her brother, Vincent Kleinpeter, Algona. Verna Kerrins, sister of Isabel, who is Wesley's telephone "central," has assumed the position of housekeeper and nurse at the Vincent Kleinpeter home. Miss Hedwig Richter, student at the Hamilton University and Miss Teresa Richter, student nurse at the Mercy Hospital, both of Mason City, are at home this week with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Richter. Lee Ricke of Morgan, Minnesota, drive to Wesley Saturday to spend a few days with home folks, being called here due to the critical illness of his mother, Mrs. Henry Ricke, who is very ill with gall and liver trouble. [Kossuth County News 1934, submitted by a Friend of Genealogy]

Relatives and friends from a distance who were here last Thursday to attend the last sad rites of Mrs. Henry Ricke, 65, included Frank Ricke, wife and son Frank, Jr., and daughter Eleanore and Clem Seimer, all of Morgan, Minnesota; Henry Kroeger and wife, Mrs. Christine Engelking, Mrs. George Engelking, Gus Ricke and son Richard, all of Doon; John Ricke and wife, Tony Ricke and wife, John Coon and wife, Mrs. Frank Bohenkamp and son Will, all of Breda; Gus West, wife and son Joseph of Eagle Grove; Henry Getker, wife and son Glenn, Frank Freeze, Edward Freeze and wife, Mrs. Ben Ricke and Leo, Mrs. John Walkup, Herman Drummer, Frank Drummer, wife and son Lawrence, Clem Freeze and wife, Leo Freeze and wife, Frank Oetker, all of Haverhill; Tony Edel, wife and three children of Zearing; Clem Ricke, Mrs. Beombolt, John Handfels, Sr., wife and daughter Florence, Mrs. John Handfelt, Jr., Andrew Halmos and wife, Ben Halmes and wife, Charles Murphy and wife, Ed Miller and wife, Henry Holdgrapher, wife and son Dedrick, George Staebler, Mrs. Elmer Huffman and wife, Roy Mauback and wife all of Williams; John Lutzke and wife, Hugo Pape and wife of Waverly; Edward Keegan and wife of New Hampton; Mrs. Mary Hendricks and son Will, Mrs. Joe Bonnett, Mrs. Henry Bonnett and two daughters Helen and Rose. Mr. Uthe, William Sherman, Ben Ricke and wife, Mrs. Walter Klaas, Mrs. John Trannel, Mrs. Rose Trannel, Harman Klaas, all of Menomonie, Illinois; Leo Wirth and wife, Lawrence Wirth and wife, John Wirth and wife, and Fred Wirth all of Gilbert; Mrs. Ben Dankbar and daughter Bertha of Garner, Mrs. Al Lansing of Festina. The funeral services were attended by one of the largest gatherings of relatives and friends within the history of St. Joseph's church.

Wagener returned home Friday from Sioux City to where he went directly from Dubuque after having attended the funeral of his mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Wagener, 91, on Tuesday. Mrs. Sylvester Braunger Passes in Minnesota Home
Mr. and Mrs.
Julius Wingert left Sunday noon for Morgan, Minnesota following word that her mother, Mrs. Sylvester Braunger, 67, had passed away suddenly Saturday evening at 6 o'clock at Morgan. The Braunger family formerly lived near Wesley, occupying the farm where Henry and Louise Hauptly now live. Mrs. Braunger is survived by her husband and two other married daughters beside Mrs. Winger, and four daughters who are Catholic Sister, and one son. Another son passed away last September.
The Wingert children, namely, Julius, DeLoras, Fidelis, Francis and Reginald, left Tuesday noon to be present at the funeral of their grandmother.
