Ballard Cemetery

This cemetery, situated in a field, was all but plowed under at one time with broken stones and tall weeds.
But, thanks to the new owner with help of the Marshall County Geneolgy Society, removed, repaired & reset the stones,
sowed grass seed and cleaned up area.
A drive has been added to access the cemetery.

Rosannah, wife of P. Ballard died April 10, 1858 aged 35 yrs 6 mos, 11 days


James M., son of Jacob & H. Miller died August 13, 1859 aged 1 yr 4 mos, 2 days

Frances, daughter of J.& H Miller died April 11, 1860 aged 7 mos, 11 days
(Probably daughter of Jacob & Harriet (Ballard) Miller)


Harriet A. , daughter of A. & N. Gaer died 12-12-1863 aged 2 yrs, 2 mos, 11days

Sleep on dear Harriet and take thy rest- God called thee home, He thought it best (at bottom of stone) & son Earnest
(Parents are Almerion & Nancy (Ballard) Gaer who were married 9-16-1849)


Mary A. M. , daughter of A. & N. Gaer died 11-19-1863 aged 4 yrs 2 mos, 12 days
Her life was like a morning flower, So soon has passed away, She could not live another hour, But shines in endless day.
(Parents are Almerion & Nancy (Ballard) Gaer who were married 9-16-1849)

There was also a small pile of footstones near old stump, a cpl with initials only on them.
