Whitaker Family Cemetery

Location: North out of Albion on Marsh Ave to148th Street
Turn west on 148th Street to Ingram Ave, turn North on Ingram Avenue, go about 1/2 mile.
This cemetery is on a high hill to the West, on pasture ground on Morman Ridge, overlooking the Iowa River Valley.
The cemetery is on Private Property owned by the Royal Young Family.
As of May 2009, only 4 headstones were found.

On the 1871 plat of Marshall County, it show J. Whitaker in section 33, Township 85 North, Range 19 West.

The Whitaker Family Burial ground is located in Section 28 on the property of E.J. Coffin, so there may be other burials here other than the Whitaker family.

John M. Whitaker died March 12, 1861 aged 48 yrs, 10 ms, 14 days
M. Whitaker died Feb 28, 1870 aged 18 yrs, 8 mos, 13 days
M. J. Whitaker died Oct 10, 18**, aged 20 yrs 6 mos, 14 days
Wm. W. Whitaker born April 16, 1860, died April 15, 1888

There were also some smaller footstones found.
