Mr. Charles H. Jones and Miss Hattie E. Williams were married at 7:30 Thursday evening, at the home of the bride's mother, Mrs. S.E. Williams, 604 East State Street. Rev. Van Ness officiating. About sixty invited guests witnessed the ceremony and partook of the bountiful supper that followed, which was served by the sisters and cousins of the bride. A rare assortment of beautiful and useful presents was bestowed by admiring friends. The happy couple moved the following morning into their new home, 605 East State Street. The groom is a proficient and industrious machinist in the Iowa Central shops, an exemplary young man and very popular, while his bride is one of the best young ladies of the city, in which most of her life has been spent. Marshalltown Girl Bride of Gaylord Stewart of Conrad on Monday Evening at 9 o'clock
Miss Harriett Jones who has been making her home with her uncle, E. Lester Williams, 312 North Center street in Marshalltown and Gaylord Stewart, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Stewart, living seven miles north of this city, were married by Rev. W. C. Cleworth at the Methodist parsonage at 9:30 Monday night. Only a few relatives witnessed the ceremony. Mrs. Stewart is the daughter of Mrs. Hattie Jones, who died in Marshalltown, Oct. 29, 1922, and of Charles H. Jones, who died Feb. 4, 1919. Mrs. Jones was a sister of Mrs. Williams (sic-should be Mr. Williams) and of Mrs. C. A. Berggren, of Los Angeles, with whom Miss Jones lived for a time following her mother's death. She was graduated from the high school in Marshalltown in 1923 and attended Iowa State Teachers College one year. Mr. Stewart was graduated from the Marshalltown high school in 1919. The couple is at home on Mr. Stewarts father's farm north of here. Dora Rettger
