DEFAULTER ATTEMPTS LIFE
Glenwood, Iowa, July 8 -- It is reported here that Potter, the defaulting county clerk, has attempted to take his own life in the county jail. A
bottle of poison was found upon him when he was arrested in St. Louis. He has been unable to secure anyone to go
on his bond, the amount of which has been fixed at $500.
