Walnut Cemetery - Layton Township

The Walnut Hill Cemetery Assocation first purchased land from Henry Burchard in January 1867. Then on March 6, 1886 the Layton Township Trustees purchased the land north of the railroad from the Walnut Hill Cemetery Assocation. In January 1904 the trustees purchased eight more acres from Irad T. Spangler for the cemetery.

This cemetery is unusual because the highway cuts thru it. A walking bridge over the highway provides access to the whole cemetery from one side to the other.
