CRESCENT LAD DEFEATS SMITH

WINS WRESTLING MATCH IN STRAIGHT FALLS—WALKER THROWS WITHROW

In one of the prettiest wrestling matches seen in a long time, Royal Miller of Crescent defeated Raymond Smith, in two straight falls, at the Iowa Athletic club rooms last night. The men were evenly matched and both showed clever training. The Crescent man took the offensive from the start, and was in excellent form. Smith put up a fine exhibition, but appeared to lack the strength possessed by his opponent. The first fall came after thirty-two minutes and the second in twenty minutes. Several old wrestlers who saw the match said it was one of the best exhibitions they had seen for a long time.

Two good preliminaries were given. Gorden Fauble threw Clifford Dale in straight falls, the first in twenty minutes and the second in eight. The men were quite evenly matched, but Fauble appeared much heavier than his opponent.

R. H. Walker won from Carl Withrow in straight falls. This was also a good match, but Walker showed more strength and cleverness and won easily.
