William Sidney was before Magistrate Kramer yesterday to answer to the charge of petit larceny, having stolen a coat from Patrick Halligan.
He was given one week in jail to meditate upon the wickedness of stealing.
Davenport Weekly Tribune, Thurs., Dec. 1, 1887, pg.4 [C. Horton]

Henry Blunck was again arrested yesterday as a vagrant and brought before Aquire Kramer. The magistrate again gave him the usual allowance of thirty days. It seems not quite the correct proceeding to continually arrest this young man for vagrancy, when there seems to be but little doubt of his being demented. He should be examined by the commissioners and sent to an asylum, instead of allowing his mental disorder to grow upon him and completely shatter his mind.   Davenport Weekly Tribune, Thurs., Dec. 1, 1887, pg.4 [C. Horton]

The jury in the case of the State vs. Flenke? of Dixon failed to agree and were discharged.
He was accused of the heinous and horrible crime of throwing stones against the house of his mother-in-law, who, by the way was very anxious for his conviction, but who failed to connect in this instance.  Davenport Weekly Tribune, Thurs., Dec. 1, 1887, pg.4 [C. Horton]
