Atchison County, Kansas
Historic School Districts transcribed by Sheryl McClure
Today
(2007), Atchison County has only two school
districts - Atchison and Atchison Community - but in the
"olden days", when there were two or more homesteads on every section,
small rural schools dotted the countryside. Below is a list of known
schools. Names changed throughout the years, and I have tried to
include as many of the variant names as I could research. Not included
below are joint or union districts with adjacent counties.# 1 Atchison # 2 Pleasant Valley # 3 High Prairie # 4 Fair Ground # 5 Terry/Price # 6 White Clay # 7 Deer Creek # 8 Pardee # 9 Sumner # 10 Lancaster # 11 Noffsinger # 12 Good Intent # 13 unknown # 14 St. Patrick's/Mt.
