SUN CITY MAN ADMITS TO ASSAULT-ROBBERY

Bill Oberg a Sun City resident for the past three months, and prior to that a member of the merchant marine on the west coast, confessed Tuesday to assault and robbery of Bill Dow, a well known Sun City man, last Saturday, February 25, county attorney Raymond Eggleston said Tuesday. The robbery and assault took place at the rear of an unocupied building in Sun City.

Oberg has been charged with first degree robbery.

Implicated in the crime was Mrs. Joe Oberg, the wife of a brother of Bill Oberg, and mother of a small daughter. Mrs. Oberg, County attorney Eggleston said Tuesday, had confessed to being present at the time of the attack, and her knowledge of the crime during its commission.

Dow reported that over $50 was missing from his person after the assault. He received bruises and cuts which required several stitches to close. During Saturday afternoon he had a roll which was seen by several Sun City residents.

The confessions came after 48 hours of questioning, Eggleston said.
