LITTLE BOY HANGED
| Peculiar Accident to a Child Near Medicine Lodge, Kansas Medicine Lodge, Kan., Aug. 14---Little Roy Van Buskirk, the 8-year-old son of Louis Van Buskirk, residing four miles east of this place, was found dead in his home yesterday. With his 4-year-old sister he was playing in the kitchen and the little boy placed one end of a roller towel about his neck and twisted himself so as to produce suffocation. His little sister asked him to unwind and he promised to do so if she would give him a piece of bread. The little girl did so and then went into the sitting room, played a short time with her father, then returned to the kitchen when the discovery was made. When found life was extinct. The child's knees were touching the floor. As there is no cause to suppose it to be suicide, the general belief is that the child attempted to swallow some bread while wound up in the towel and became strangled, so that he could not make an outcry.
