Father Dies

Joe Burkhart, 62, of Medicine Lodge, father of Sheriff Burkhart, died suddenly at his home Tuesday evening at 6:30, from a heart attack. He complained of feeling ill and went to bed but died a few minutes later.
He was engaged in farming and lived only a few miles from Medicine Lodge.
He is survived by his wife, four sons and three daughters.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, at Forsyth Funeral Home with Rev. O. L. Tucker officiating. Burial will be at Virgil Cemetery, Virgil, Kans. Graveside services will be conducted by Rev. Hoyett Lemmon of Arkansas City.
