Obituary of William H Wells

Son of William J Wells and Mary Flegar

W. H. Wells Dies Saturday Night In Hospital.

W.H. Wells, 89, a well known early day resident of Kiowa died early Sunday morning in a hospital in Medicine Lodge. Mr. Wells had been in very poor health for the past four years and becoming serious a few days ago they moved him to the hospital from his home here in Kiowa.

Mr. Wells came to Kiowa in 1892 and became active in the transfer business which he remained in for 30 years. He retired about ten years ago.

He was born in Pennsylvania but moved to Illinois when a small boy. He remained there until 1892 when he moved to Kiowa.

He is survived by his wife, two sons, Alfred and John, both of Kiowa and one daughter LaVena Unger of Cedar Falls, Iowa

Funeral arrangements have not been completed at press time.

Rites Held for W.H. Wells

Rites for William H. Wells were held this afternoon in the Methodist church here in Kiowa at two o'clock PM. Rev. J.W. Millsap, pastor of the Methodist church officiated with Rev. J.S. Bunch pastor of the Congregational Church Assisting. Burial was made in the Riverview Cemetery here in Kiowa. The Ikerd Funeral home was in charge.
