Blanche M. Barber, 100, of El Dorado, died Wednesday, Nov. 8, at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 10, at the First United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Sunset Lawns Cemetery.
She was born April 10, 1900 to Hiram Morgan and Viola Eunice (Walworth) David on a farm near Flat, Mo. She was the youngest of seven children. At the age of 12, she moved with her family to Springfield, Mo.
On August 21, 1916, she was married to Arley R. Barber in Independence. They moved to Bloomington in 1926 and to El Dorado in 1929.
She was a homemaker and a dental assistant for her son, Warren D. Barber DDS. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church for 71 years, a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, a member of the Red Cross with a 15 year pin, a member of the Beauceants and was the card chairman for Sunday School class and the church circles. She loved crafts, quilting and playing the piano and organ. She enjoyed playing for the residents of Heritage House, the Senior Citizen Center and local nursing homes. While living at the Heritage House, she led exercise class for more than five years. One of her favorite pastimes was memorizing poetry.
Survivors include: sons, Dr. Warren D. Barber of El Dorado and Dr. James L. Barber of Augusta; daughters, Arlena B. Overholser of Hutchinson and Norma Ruth Reneau of Salem, S.C.; 22 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Robert Dean Bohannon, 67, of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., died Sunday, Jan. 7, at his home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, at Lietz-Fraze Chapel, with Rev. Richard Rounds officiating.
He was born Jan. 25, 1933 in Augusta. He was a resident of Lake Havasu City for 10 years from El Dorado. He was an operator for Texaco Refinery in El Dorado for 20 years. He was in the U.S. Marines during the Korean Conflict and was a member of Elks Lodge, VFW and AmVets, all of El Dorado, and a longstanding member of the Oil Chemical and Atmoic Worker's Union.
Survivors include; his wife, JoAnn of Lake Havasu City; a son, David Bohannon of El Dorado; a daughter, Karla Worthington of Augusta; a brother, Roscoe Bohannon of Andrews, Texas; sisters, Mary Zumbaum of Lakeview, Ark., CarrieBriggs of Dewey, Okla., Gladys Mariorenzi of Torrance, Calif., and Virgina Dale of Vancouver, Wash.; grandchildren, Jamiee Bohannon, Stephany Bohannon, Kerrie Bohannon, Melissa Bohannon, Kelsi Ferren, Jennifer Myers, Kyle Wilson, Chris Ferren and Jon Fulps; and a great-granddaughter Cassandra Myers.

Louis F. Boullion, 92, formerly of El Dorado, died Jan. 15. Graveside inurnment services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Seneca City Cemetery, Seneca, with Pastor John Collins officiating.
He served as the superintendent of the Civil Conservation Corps when it developed Lake Nemaha south of Seneca. He was married to Edna Robbins Allen, who preceded him in death Nov. 11, 1990.
Survivors include: a stepson, Robbin D. Allen of Potwin; three stepgrandchildren; and nine step-great-grandchildren.

Ruth Coulter Bowles, 96, of Wichita, died Wednesday, May 24, 2000. Services were held 10 a.m. Saturday, May 27, at University Friends Church in Wichita. Dr. Cliff Loesch officiated. Burial followed in Blankenship Cemetery.
She was born July 8, 1903, in Smith county, the daughter of Asa and Emma (Liggett) Dillon.
Survivors include: daughter and son-in-law, Annie and Dick Wilson of Leon; three grandchildren, Ed Wilson, Patrick Wilson and Gwen Wilson, all of Wichita.
Memorials have been established with Friends University and UNICEF house.

Rites are Held for Leslie J. Bradley
Funeral services for Leslie J. Bradley, 72, were held Thursday afternoon in the Kirby Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Letha Wood, pastor of the Midian Community Church officiating. Mr. Bradley died last Sunday.
Rev. Wood sang "Whispering Hope," "In the Garden" and "Beyond the Sunset", accompanied at the organ by Mrs. H. W. Bulleridck.
Casket bearers were John Grant, Jerry Myers, Tommy Stokes, Richard Blake, Jack Ray and Benny Warren.
Interment was in Sunset Lawns cemetery. (El Dorado Times, January 4, 1963)
Alberta Mae Brawner, 88, Augusta, passed away March 24, 2007.
Viewing from 1 to 5 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday; service at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 30, all at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta.
Alberta was born in Harrison, Ark. on March 24, 1919, the daughter of the late John and Darthula (Hawkins) Keys. She worked as a waitress at Aurelios for 17 years. On September 16, 1954 she married Harry Brawner in Hennessey, Okla. He preceded her in death. She was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters as well.
She is survived by: a son Harry Brawner of Augusta; daughter, Debbie Brawner of Wichita; brother Troy Keys of Augusta and grandchildren, Erik Hiser, Loren Tong, Blake Brawner and Haylie Brawner.

Ethel May Brooks, 105, of El Dorado, died Saturday, Dec. 23, at Lake Point Nursing Center in El Dorado. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, at Carlson Funeral Home. Interment will be in Douglass Cemetery.
She was born April 12, 1895 to Walter and Laura (Woods) Throckmorton in Boone County, Iowa. She had made her home in El Dorado for the past 50 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
On Oct. 5, 1916, she was married to Nate Brooks in Mulvane.
Survivors include: sons, Harold Brooks of Canon City, Colo. and Robert Brooks of El Dorado; a daughter, Nina Mchatton of El Dorado; a sister, Nemoia Myers of Temple, Texas; 35 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren; and 27 great-great-granchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; sons, Cecil and Kenneth "Squeek" Brooks; daughters, Inez Shaw, and Opal Hinnen; four brothers and a sister.

Ginni Button, 48, of El Dorado, died Wednesday, Aug. 23, at her home. Services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 26, at Kirby-Morris Funeral Home, with Revs. Steve Hysom and Tom Davis officiating.
She was born April 30, 1952 to John Glenn and Virginia Louise (McCullough) Button in Pittsburg, Penn. She lived in El Dorado since 1998, moving here form Lexington, Ky.
She was employed by Mid-Kap as an agency planner. She was formerly employed in Lexington in the Family Resource Center and was the coordinator for the Fayette County School District. She graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor in Science degree in family studies.
Button was a member of the United Methodist Church, the National Society of Fund Raising Executives, Omicron Delta Kappa, the Golden Key Society, Phi Upsilon Omicron and Alpha Phi Omega.
Survivors include: sons, Matthew L. Childers of El Dorado and Nathan Childers of Del Rio, Texas; two sons she raised, Seth Carriero of the Virgin Islands and Matt Crutcher of Lexington; her mother Jennie Hodgson of Pittsburg; her step-farther, Dr. John P. Hodgson of Pittsburg; a brother, Daniel John Hodgson of Charlottesville, Va.; a sister, Amy Babcock of Alexandria, Va.; grandchildren, Taylor Grace Childers, Alexis Childers and Noelle Childers; and her adopted parents, James and Anna Way of Richmond, Ky.
